The Nunnally-Westbrook Court Dedication Ceremony
In a surprise ceremony last April, Walter Westbrook (TA '72) and former TA basketball coach Hal Nunnally were honored for their coaching success and the positive impact they've had on TA's basketball program.
In the ceremony, Tidewater's gym court was dedicated as the Nunnally-Westbrook Court . Over the summer, the court was refinished and Nunnally-Westbrook Court was painted on two sides in honor of both coaches.
The achievements of both men have made them coaching legends at Tidewater Academy. In his 22 years as Varsity boys coach, Westbrook had 451 wins and a VIS Division III State Championship. Coach Nunnally had a record of 169 wins in 8 seasons at Tidewater Academy.

TA's Newest Board Member - Mr. William "Bill" Havard
Last spring Tidewater Academy's Board of Directors announced its newest member, Mr. Bill Havard. Mr. Havard was Tidewater Academy's Headmaster from 1977-1988. Prior to 1977, he taught Science, History, and Government at Tidewater Academy. After leaving the school in 1988, Mr. Havard furthered his career in Guidance at Hopewell City Public Schools and Prince George County Public Schools.
He brings a wealth and breadth of knowledge and experience to his new role on the TA Board! We are fortunate to have Mr. Havard return to Tidewater Academy in this new role.
Mr. Havard is well loved far and wide. When the school announced on its facebook page that Mr. Havard would be joining TA's Board of Directors, that announcement post went viral. The news was shared over 130 times and was seen by almost 13,000 very happy people who offered many words of congratulations for Mr. Havard and Tidewater Academy.
