The Network's Capacity Building Initiative
Ever since last year, when the state and city committed to create 35,000 new units of supportive housing in two separate initiatives over the next fifteen years, the Network has focused on supporting our community in meeting this unprecedented opportunity. 27,500 of these units will be single-site.  Read more.
Medicaid Redesign Team Supportive Housing Program
Some 70 representatives from a broad spectrum of health and housing organizations gathered at the offices of Robin Hood September 12th for a presentation on first year evaluations of the Medicaid Redesign Team Supportive Housing Program by representatives of the Department of Health (DOH) and SUNY Albany.  Read more.
Comunilife and NYC Health + Hospitals Break Ground on Comunilife Woodhull
On August 16th, elected officials, funders, and other partners joined Comunilife and NYC Health + Hospitals to break ground on a new supportive/affordable housing building on the campus of Woodhull Hospital.  Of the residence’s 89 studio units, fifty-four will be set aside as supportive housing for patients of NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull who have behavioral health issues and a history of homelessness. HCR Releases Unified Funding Round Request for Proposals
The competitive round of funding that includes 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) has been released. This is a major source of funds to develop supportive housing to meet New York State’s commitment to build 6,000 units of supportive housing over five years. That commitment is demonstrated by an increase in the supportive housing set aside for LIHTC, from $4 million to $5 million out of an estimated total of $28 million. Read more.
Updates
Emily Lehman is now the Assistant Commisioner of the Supportive Housing Loan Program (SHLP) at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD). Prior to this appointment, Ms. Lehman served as HPD's Director of Planning and Development, Division of Special Needs Housing, as well as served as the Deputy Director of SHLP.

Carrie Zwiebel Bloss has been named Executive Director of Project Hospitality, sharing executive leadership with the organization’s Reverend Dr. Terry Troia , who served as Executive Director for 30 years, and who now holds the position of President and CEO. Ms. Bloss comes to Project Hospitality from Breaking Ground, where she served as Vice President, and oversaw quality assurance of all agency programs, leasing and compliance of 3,000+ units of affordable housing, and management of government contracts. Prior to her work with Breaking Ground, Ms. Bloss was Senior Policy Advisor for the NYC Department of Homeless Services.

Lorraine Y. Collins is Enterprise’s new Director of Public Policy and External Affairs in New York City. Prior to joining Enterprise, Ms. Collins spent over a decade at NYS Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) where she launched HCR's Fair and Equitable Housing Office, as well as served as a Regional Director and Poli cy Advisor.
