Energy Florida and partners highlight disaster recovery resources for small businesses and manufacturers damaged by Hurricane Irma, Harvey and Maria. New International consulting agreement with Innovatiespotter, of The Netherlands. Energy Florida has partnered with a Dutch data analytics firm from the city of Groningen. EF and Innovatiespotter will assist each other and clients in finding innovative companies and assist them with vetted connections and collaboration opportunities.  Learn more about Innovatiespotter here.
Energy Florida and FloridaMakes partner to support Florida manufacturers. Energy Florida's executive director Mike Aller and FloridaMakes' executive director Kevin Carr shake hands after signing a strategic partnership agreement to advance Florida's manufacturing economy.   The partnership is focused on developing robust supply chains, increasing access to resources, and improving productivity across multiple economic sectors. This initiative is designed to increase profitability and stimulate growth for manufacturers, suppliers, and innovative enterprises across the state.
Energy Florida welcomes new partnership with the Rockledge located D&D Manufacturing. Energy Florida announces it has entered into a partnership agreement with D&D Manufacturing, to establish a new business entity for developing domestic and international product channels for D&D’s solar air heating and solar water heating panels.
Energy Florida's Tim Franta, Director of Special Projects, was at LYNX transit in Orlando in mid-August working with CTE, Hi-Z, and International Trade Bridge as part of a US Department of Transportation-funded collaboration to develop and demonstrate a thermoelectric generator that will be used to provide supplemental power and reduce the amount of power required from the bus alternator during operation. 
Energy Florida gives two presentations at Renewable Energy Systems and Sustainability Conference.   EF gave two well received presentations at Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland at July 31, 2017. Topic 1: “Unique Energy Technology Partnership at NASA Kennedy Space Center – The Test HUB” was presented by Tim Franta, EF's Director of Special Projects, and the second topic was presented by EF's Executive Director, Mike Aller, about  “Powering the Future from Florida – Combined Heat and Power Smart Grid and the CAPE.

The ASME Workshop on “Realizing Gas Turbine Performance Goals through Advanced Manufacturing” October 17-18, 2017 at the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.   Power and propulsion technologies underpin many important sectors of the U.S. economy including civil and military aviation, aerospace and defense, oil and gas, power generation, and renewable energy. The 2017 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum, CREF 2017, will be in Miami on Oct. 18-20. CREF is the largest annual gathering of the Caribbean energy market. Last year 500 attended from 50 countries, over 20 Caribbean countries were represented either by their government or by their utility, or in many instances, by both.
The Caribbean is transitioning away from a decade-long discussion around how to enable a resilient energy matrix, to one focused squarely on how to procure, finance and build world-class clean energy projects in the Caribbean. EDA 2016 Annual Report EDA seeks to achieve tangible results for our communities in need by increasing their awareness of resources that can improve their economic condition and help them become more competitive in the global marketplace. The data presented in this report represent the official grant data for awards made by EDA in FY 2016. EDA has verified the data through a reconciliation process, conducted annually, between EDA’s grant management systems and the Department of Commerce’s accounting system.  Try the interactive map seen here.
Florida's Department of Employment Opportunities releases August Employment and Unemployment data Florida’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in July 2017, unchanged from June 2017, and down 0.8 percentage point from a year ago.  There were 411,000 jobless Floridians out of a labor force of 10,114,000.  The U.S. unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in July. The state gained 226,200 jobs over the year, an increase of 2.7 percent.  Nationally, the number of jobs rose 1.5 percent over the year.   More .. .

More than 2,700 events in 86 countries celebrated the benefits of space and excitement about space exploration in 2016. With the 2017 theme “Exploring New Worlds In Space” we aim to inspire all.
