We are all focused on various "numbers". It could be our age or the number of years we've been married. Maybe it's the lottery numbers, the number of years (or days) until retirement, graduation, or marriage, or the numbers on your paycheck. If you are into sports, it may be batting averages, RBIs, or home runs. If you're into financial issues, it could be the DOW or the national debt.
We can all get distracted and buy into numerous numbers that are not nearly as significant as the critically important ones - numbers that are literally a matter of life and death. If living life to its fullest is our goal, there is a Numbers Game we should all be playing.
This is the important Numbers Game that you want to know and succeed in:
- blood pressure
- blood sugar, hemoglobin A1c
- cholesterol values: LDL-C, HDL-C, triglycerides
- ideal body weight / body mass index (BMI).

If you ignore these numbers, the other numbers won't matter
. I've seen many people work hard their entire adult life only to be miserable in retirement because of totally preventable health issues.
