A Message from the Executive Director

Our Fall kicked off with EPICentre hosting bioscience students and faculty from Oxford Brookes University. They collaborated with Odette business consulting students
to nail down this term's science commercialization projects.  We also showed them a glimpse of the vast agribusiness sector in Windsor-Essex by touring Highline Mushrooms, PureFlavor Greenhouse, and Cooper's Hawk Winery. These young scientists and business students were especially intrigued with the business model and the scientific and environmental processes supporting the world's largest organic mushroom grower.
EPICentre also held its first Libro Social Innovator qualifying pitches. 14 social enterprises applied, 6 pitched, and 3 were selected to receive support of $8000  each and targeted programming and mentorship. The EPIC staff have developed a strong slate of entrepreneurial activities and education to reach across campus once ag ain.

The Shibley Righton Community Impact Award was established in 2016 to support a student entrepreneur where his/her business has a potential for positive community impact in the WindsorEssex region.
