A Message From Our President
I'm so glad that September is here! My children are back in school and we are happy to be back to our usual routine after a fun filled summer. All of our support groups are resuming this month, so be sure to come join us at whichever group works best for you!
I'm also excited that it is almost time for our 2nd Annual
Lights! Camera! Autism! Film and Art Event
on
September 15th
. Featuring an art reception with local autistic artists and autistic musicians as well as films both created by and about people with autism, you won't want to miss this chance to celebrate the many talented people in our community! Registration is underway for our Fall Family Camp, which will take place on the weekend of October 5th-7th at YMCA Camp Marston in Julian. Family Camp is a wonderful weekend of family fun in a supportive and judgement free atmosphere. Be sure to register as soon as possible, since this is a very popular event!
Finally, be sure to save the date for our Halloween Dance Party on Saturday, October 27th, as well as our Beers & Cheers for Autism fundraiser at Mike Hess Brewing on November 1st. This annual event raises money for our recreation programs and is always a great time!

Disneyland Community Involvement Program 2019
Registration for discounted tickets is now open through the Autism Society San Diego. You are invited to participate if you are...
- Residents of San Diego County (or adjacent county)
- Members of Autism Society San Diego-current and unexpired*
- Have documented disability of participant (Autism, Aspergers, PDD-NOS) New members may be required to show proof of disability.

Registrants without a current membership or who register multiple times (including with other eligible agencies) will be removed from the list without further notice. No PO Box addresses. Sustaining memberships must be equal to annual membership at time of registration. To join or renew membership, click here.

Looking for the coolest Halloween party this year??

KIDZROCKOUT, the Autism Society of San Diego is hosting a Halloween Dance Party! Dance the night away in a safe and friendly space. Come in costume or whatever comfy, spooky attire you like!

Bring the entire family to enjoy a swim in an indoor heated pool with free pizza and drinks. Lifeguards are provided. For safety purposes, no flotation devices or "floaties" are permitted.
*Please remember there is NO childcare provided at this event. For safety reasons, ATTENDEES are expected to supervise their children at ALL times. Additionally: If your child cannot swim independently enough to pass the swim test, regardless of whether they will be in the deep or shallow end, you must be in the water with them at all times.

Join other families affected by autism at a Family Fun Gymnastics Night in North County. The YMCA will provide the gym equipment. Together we will be the fun AND PIZZA! Bring the entire family for an enjoyable relaxing night of family recreation.
Donations of (minimum) $5 per family GREATLY APPRECIATED!
*Please remember there is NO childcare provided at this event. For safety reasons, ATTENDEES are expected to SUPERVISE their children at ALL times. The YMCA staff will be enforcing this rule.

Sensory Friendly Night at PLAYWERX

Join us for Sensory Friendly Family Night at Playwerx with Autism Society San Diego! This event is open to families and participants of ALL AGES. Play in the climbing structure, enjoy meeting other families, and enjoy an evening of judgement-free relaxing family fun. $8 per participant covers entrance to the event. Food is available for purchase separately.

Autism-Friendly Sensory Playtime! - La Mesa Library
The first Sunday of the month!

The La Mesa Library is proud to present an Autism-Friendly playtime event every first Sunday of the month. The library staff provide a friendly, judgement-free space in their lovely space with a variety of sensory and educational activities. All families are welcome to enjoy and explore the library an hour before it opens to the public every month - we hope you can join us!

*Please note this is a family event best suited for children ages 3-10. Individuals without children will not be granted entry until the library opens for its public hours. We appreciate your understanding!

on the first Sunday of each month 2 hours before opening to the public. This event will feature "reduced lighting and noise, trained and caring staff, and food and games".
