Celebrating the New School Year!
Celebrating the start of the school year, we joined in prayer for our first all-school liturgy on Monday, August 27 with an opening Mass. Following the liturgy, our top scholars were recognized for their academic achievements. It was great to be together as a school community, reconnecting with each other and welcoming new students, faculty and staff. All the best to our students in the year ahead!

Congratulations 2018 Res Scholars! Following our opening liturgy, top students were honored for their academic achievements. The top ten students in the sophomore, junior and senior classes, and the freshmen
with the top ten entrance exam scores were named as Res Scholars.

Fall Play Auditions

These Shining Lives

These Shining Lives
is a play written by Melanie Marnich. Based on the true story of four women who worked in a watch factory in Ottawa, Illinois, the play tells the story of the
toxic and deadly levels of radium poisoning of over 4,000 factory workers
in the 1920s, and how these 4 women
took their company to court and achieved a long-lasting victory over corporations with poor workplace conditions and worker's compensation that is still in effect today.

The Resurrection Athletic Booster Club will meet Wednesday, September 5 at 6:15 pm in the Library. Among the topics discussed will be the idea of moving the Fall, Winter, and Spring Sports Banquets from White Eagle Banquets to the Little Theatre at school.

Kindness Campaign Kicks-Off
Resurrection College Prep will sponsor a year-long series of events and activities to promote kindness in our school community. Kicking off this program is the Kind Assembly, created by an internationally recognized, nonprofit organization entitled
Kind Campaign. Kind Campaign brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-on-girl bullying.

Athletic Boosters Volunteers Needed for Cubs games
Resurrection Athletics Booster Club is running the Red Line Grill (Stand 422) in the Bleachers of Wrigley this year for 20 games. Resurrection keeps 8% of profits from the stand as the result of volunteering.
We have some volunteer slots left to fill for this year's games. The slots we have left are
September 27, 28, 29 & 30.

if you would like to sign up for a date. If you are signing up others in addition to yourself, please provide their email contacts. Volunteers need to arrive 3 hours before game time to the Levy Restaurants Building next to Wrigley at 3721 N. Clark Street.
Volunteers also need to complete an alcohol training which Mr. Kane will email to you upon signing up.

Resurrection and Notre Dame College Prep juniors, seniors and their parents are invited to
College Night at Resurrection College Prep. This event brings in over 100 representatives from colleges and universities around the country to provide information to interested students. Students are encouraged to gather information from a variety of schools about their admissions, student life, and academic programs.

A representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will be here to talk with senior parents about financing college through federal student aid. The FAFSA will be available starting October 1st,
so this information session will help parents prepared for the application when it opens.

tudents, get ready for Spirit Week at the end of September! Our
to the Pickwick Theatre is Tuesday of Spirit Week. Any student who brings in $55 or more will enjoy popcorn, pop and a movie at the Pickwick. If we meet both our monetary goal and our participation goal, we will earn a day off school on Friday, October 5. Students, this is your opportunity to raise money to help fill the gap between tuition and the cost of a Resurrection education.
Remember, pledges can be collected online this year!
