2020 Student Alumni Board Representatives
We are pleased to announce that
Mike DeAscentis, Jay Gokhale, Whitney Hannallah, Sarah Netler
and
Nikki Turley have been selected to represent the senior class as Student Alumni Board Representatives.
The Student Alumni Board Representatives serve as liaisons between the Alumni Board, Alumni Office and the student body. They foster relationships between alumni and students and help develop and manage events that bring alumni together. During their senior year, the student reps attend all Alumni Board meetings and serve on committees as needed.
The student reps support Columbus Academy financially through participation in the Annual Fund and, following graduation, act as class agents until their five-year reunion. As class agents, they work with the Alumni Office to collect class notes, help with class fundraising solicitations, and assist in organizing reunions.

School News
"Academy is a wholly unique environment where even the youngest of us get to play and grow alongside the oldest," said Student Council President Kathan Reddy during Convocation at the beginning of Columbus Academy's 109th school year. "It's a place where aspirations can live and breathe right in front of your eyes and where your goals are directly inspired by what you see right in front of you."

Viking fall sports offerings increased to 10 varsity teams this year with the addition of girls golf. Coached by Maggie Freytag, the all-freshman squad has already won several matches heading into today's contest against Wellington. Boys golf, meanwhile, continues to post impressive results with the hopes of winning a third-straight state title. As for our other reigning state champ, field hockey is 5-0 and has won 26 straight contests dating back to the start of last season while outscoring opponents 176-1 during that span. Our football team travels to Newark Catholic for a 7pm game this Saturday looking for its first win of the young season, volleyball is off to a strong start with hopes of repeating as league champions, girls tennis looks to again be a state contender, our cross country runners are recording some of the area's top times, and providing plenty of excitement on the pitch are our girls and boys soccer squads, who we encourage you to come watch during Alumni Weekend and CA Community Day festivities on September 21!
