Hello

Recently I had the opportunity to hike 100 miles along the Appalachian Trail in Maine.  It was rugged and beautiful.  As the miles unfolded with unbelievable fog shrouded lakes, mountains and wildlife - yes I saw a couple moose and wow are they are enormous creatures – I had many hours to think. I really valued that time to consider the beauty of the Maine wilderness along with solving global and local issues in my mind and with my hiking partners. What emerged for me was this feeling of incredible fortune to have lived and worked in one of Americas great small cities and with talented partners. As a long time government employee – army, federal, regional, county, and city - I have grown to admire the contributions of and needs for a robust private sector with incredible talent, services, and products. Frederick is chock full of some of the most amazing entrepreneurs who follow a dream to build a start-up business. This issue of Frederick Business ENEWS is all about how to start a business here. If entrepreneurism is your thing, read on and see what opportunities and services are available from the City and our partners to assist.

Best Regards (and hope to see you out hiking),
