The 11 Octopuses are heading back out to sea this weekend after their summer vacation on the Boardwalk.

Over 300 kids visited each of the locations to completed the Octopus Hunt and were rewarded with their own stuffed animal when they returned to the Information Cottage. There were lots of happy kids and parents and the participating business got a boost.

The Downtown Association will have a beer booth at the Inlet again this year. It's a major fund-raiser for us. Come visit! Were right outside the food tent all day Sept. 12, 13, 14
Profits go toward Holiday Lights for Ocean City, and we'll be decorated for Christmas, so look for us and enjoy a frosty beverage while you're there.

We still have a few openings for volunteers if you would like to help out by working at the booth
Friday, 10AM-2PM, 2PM-6PM or Saturday, Sept. 14, 10AM-2PM.

All volunteers receive a wrist band, good for admission to the Inlet events for all 3 days! (a $65 value!)

Help out the Downtown Association for just 4 hours, and enjoy the bands and other entertainment for the whole weekend!


The Information Cottage on the Boardwalk was busy all summer long!
A big thank you to all our staff and volunteers. Marjorie Hagood, Donna Greenwood, Barbara D'Eugenio, Jason Long, Phil Reid, Kaaren Hooke, Monica Stacovey, Kevin Gibbs, Mary & Frank Knight, Diana Abbaticchio, Suzy & Steve Taylor, Tim & Joan Mullins, Teresa Salinaro, Charlotte & Ed Montgomery, Phil Vale, Vicki Barrett.

They are Ocean City's goodwill ambassadors on the Boardwalk. They hand out booklets, flyers, rack cards and coupons for business all over the city. Explain parking, bus and tram routes and special events. Find lost parents and cell phones and keys and supply band aids. They talked to over 22,500 visitors this summer!!, Collected 6,142 Zip codes for tourism tracking, provided cold water for the Boardwalk police and safety officers and hosted the Octopusl Hunt.

Whew!! That's quite a list and everyone of them will tell you
they had fun doing it.
