Transportation Spotlight: Older Adults Need More Ride Options
Non-Profit Ride Service Looking for Teaneck Drivers to Volunteer
ITNNorth Jersey is a four-year-old program that relies on volunteers to drive older adults and those with visual impairments to the places they need – or want – to go.
The non-profit doesn’t restrict destinations to more urgent needs such as health appointments, instead offering rides to and from a wide variety of destinations – a hair salon, a movie theater, a friend’s house or their house of worship. The program's operators would like to begin offering service to Teaneck residents but desperately needs more Township residents to agree to serve as volunteer drivers.
