HARPER'S BAZAAR

We are very proud to announce that David Yarrow's fashion shoot in Botswana is featured in 10 pages in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar Magazine! Very exciting times.  It seems that David's star is not only rising but has surpassed all other stars in his journey towards excellence.  In David's words,  "When I work for myself, there is not much pressure.  But when brands such as Prada, Gucci, Dior, and in this picture - SAINT LAURENT - are reliant on your creative processing and speed of thought, there is pressure.  I do rather enjoy the intensity and we all worked well and quickly as a team."

BOOK RELEASE:

It is with great satisfaction we announce the release of David Yarrow's latest comprehensive 368 page photography monograph of his latest images and travels. The foreword is written by superstar athlete Tom Brady.  This special edition is exclusive Yarrow collectors including a small signed photograph that accompanies the book.  Please call us for more details and to place your order.

Before there was paparazzi, there was Julian Wasser...

Photojournalist Julian Wasser began his career in photography in the Washington D.C. bureau of the Associated Press, where he met Weegee and rode with the famous news photographer as they shot photos of crime scenes. After serving in the Navy, the former AP copyboy became a contract photographer for Time magazine in Los Angeles and began shooting for Life and Fortune. He soon became one of the most in-demand freelance photographers working in Los Angeles. Wasser's photographs of celebrities, politicians, writers, artists and breaking news stories garnered him first place with the magazines of the time. In a career that has spanned six decades, Julian Wasser's work has also appeared in Vanity Fair , Paris Match , Stern , Playboy , Elle , Vogue and GQ .

From celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Marilyn Monroe, Jack Nicholson, Brigitte Bardot, the Beatles, David Bowie, Jackson 5, to Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, the Watts Riots, the Manson murders, Andy Warhol and Joan Didion, Wasser captured the essence of the time. In 1963, his most famous photograph of Marcel Duchamp playing chess with a nude, 19 year old Eve Babitz at the Pasadena Art Museum has entered the annals of history.

In his book The Way We Were , Wasser wrote, "It might sound like a cliche now, but the fact is that everything you heard about living in Los Angeles in the 60's was true. It was a golden age and a hopeful time....The glamour of Old Holly- wood was still intact, but at the same time, everyone was approachable." His images have been described as "riveting" by the LA Times and "a perfect time capsule spanning the sixties, seventies and eighties." The millennial generation and generations after may not know the history of the era without a record to compare with today. It was a time when movie stars were movie stars and the world had hope for future generations..
