Veterans Affairs Canada Career and Education Fair
Calgary Nov. 22

Did you know that almost 90% of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members look for civilian employment after they release from the military?

VAC is committed to helping Veterans and their families’ transition to meaningful careers in civilian life. We know that former members bring exceptional abilities and expertise to any workplace.

This is why we are hosting a Career and Education Fair in Calgary, AB and would like to invite you to participate.

The Fair will be a tradeshow style event with booths for employers, educational institutions, volunteer organizations and other VAC partners. We will also have a variety of workshops, activities and presentations throughout the day.

The Fair is meant to be a one-stop-shop for Veterans to equip themselves with the tools and resources to march into their new life post service. The Calgary Fair is set to take place at  Ross Glenn Hall at the Mount Royal University campus  on November 22, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

You can participate in a few different ways:

  • Have a booth in the main exhibit area that highlights your organization’s job/volunteer/education opportunities for Veterans and their families. There is no cost for a booth.
  • Provide your organization’s Human Resource contact information for Veterans to reach out to after the event.
  • Participate in a workshop or training.

We would love for you to be part of this event and look forward to hearing from you. We are available to discuss opportunities of partnerships and answer any questions you might have.

The mission of the Foremost UAS Test Range is to promote the sustained profitability of the unmanned systems sector by enabling BVLOS flight operations in a safe, easy to access, feature-rich location at relatively low cost. We are located a short, three-hour journey by road from the Calgary International Airport.

The Foremost UAS Test Range includes 700 square nautical miles of Class F Restricted airspace up to 18,000 feet ASL for UAS BVLOS Research & Development and Test & Evaluation. With over 300 VFR days per year, long sight lines, and an abundance of surface features (oil & gas infrastructure, power distribution lines, a road network, and a variety of agricultural crops), the airspace is well suited to BVLOS operations for large and small UAS including small multi-rotor aircraft.
