BOLD was featured in the Cincinnati Business Courier, Movers & Makers, and ArtsWave. It is exciting to see Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky embrace the program. BOLD 3 participants are having a great experience as we move into our last few sessions. Applications for our BOLD 4 class will stay open until September 25th.
BOLD 4 will meet virtually through Zoom on Thursdays from October 29th to December 10th. The Zoom meetings will be supplemented by online training through our learning management platform, Bridge. Weekly modules are assigned to participants within Bridge. Participants are responsible for completing these modules on their own time. This virtual format allows learners the flexibility to participate from home or the workplace. Consider sharing the BOLD experience with someone this week.
Boldly,

The majority of BOLD participants learn about the program through alumni and their workplace. Your referrals will help us to continue building a community of diverse, educated leaders prepared to serve nonprofit boards.
Referrals can include family, friends, and coworkers whom you believe would be a good fit for nonprofit board training and placement. Please direct your referrals to bold@leadershipcouncil.us or directly to the application. The deadline to apply is September 25th.
At the beginning of the year, Veronica Polinedrio, Staff Product UX Designer at Procter & Gamble and Founder of The Welcome Card, applied to BOLD 3. Her colleague, BOLD alumnus, and BOLD steering committee member, Eric Boggs, guided her through the application process. Veronica called me at the beginning of the summer to ask if I could direct her towards any nonprofits serving the refugee and migrant members of Southwestern Ohio. During my graduate studies, I met Sheryl Rajbhandari, founder of Heartfelt Tidbits. I was able to connect Veronica and Sheryl. Since they met, Veronica has joined their board and brought leadership and her learnings from BOLD to Heartfelt Tidbits.

Behind the Scenes of BOLD

The BOLD Steering Committee has continued to innovate during the pandemic. We have introduced Mentoring Circles to provide support and networking in small groups to supplement BOLD sessions. Participants have been grouped by their common passions. During BOLD 3, Mentoring Circles meet for two, one-hour sessions with a member of the mentoring and placement subcommittee. The first meeting focuses on better understanding the interests and passions to guide participant’s board search. The second meeting focuses on the board search itself and the path forward after BOLD.

Leadership Council has started to work directly with nonprofit boards who are trying to recruit new board members. Several executive directors and board chairs have shared their recruitment needs with the BOLD team. Then, we share the roster of participants aligned with those needs. Connect with our team today at bold@leadershipcouncil.us if you are a nonprofit leader looking to recruit from one of our classes.
Girls on the Run: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Cincinnati Boychoir: Since 1965, the Cincinnati Boychoir has brought together boys and young men from across our region to offer immersive, educational choral experiences.
LADD, Inc.: LADD empowers adults with developmental disabilities to live, work, and connect in the Greater Cincinnati region.

Thanks to BoardSource certified consultant, Jane Page Steiner, BOLD was able to provide participants with "The Ten Basic Responsibilities of a Nonprofit Boards" by Richard Ingram.
