Polling Place Change for November 3 Election
|
|
Voting for the November 3 Election will take place at the Village Public Works Garage, 215 E. Four Mile Road. The garage is located at the very end of the driveway along Village Green Park. The entrance to the Public Works Garage is located on the south side of the building. Parking will be available for voters in the lot to the south of the garage, as shown on the map below. Additional parking will also be available next to Village Green playground. Voters will be receiving a postcard in the mail in the next few weeks as a reminder of the location change.
The change in the polling place location is due to the unavailability of the Prairie School's Johnson Athletic Center (JAC). Representatives from the Prairie School recently informed the Village the school is using the space normally reserved for voting for class instruction. As in-person instruction has resumed, the school has needed to modify its instruction locations in order to keep students socially distant.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact Casey Griffiths, Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer at 262-639-3524 or c.griffiths@windpoint.org.

Absentee Voting Information
|
|
We strongly encourage voters to vote absentee given concerns over voting in person during the COVID pandemic and the change in polling place to the Public Works Garage. If you would like to vote absentee in the upcoming election there are two ways to do it.
Absentee Voting – by mail
Voters who wish to receive an absentee ballot by mail may do so by submitting an Absentee Ballot Application to the Village Office along with a copy of a valid photo ID, or by requesting a ballot on My Vote WI website. Requests for an absentee ballot can be made now. The deadline for a voter to request a mailed absentee ballot is 5:00 p.m. on October 29. Absentee ballots must be received by the Village no later than 8:00 p.m. on November 3 in order to be counted, so please make sure to plan accordingly. It's a good idea to make your request as early as possible in order to allow for enough time for the ballot to get to you and for you to return it. You may return your absentee ballot to the Village in one of four ways:
-
Via Mail: Postage is provided on the return envelope. The U.S. Postal Service states that it takes approximately 5-7 days for mail to arrive at its destination, so if you plan to return you ballot via the mail, make sure to allow enough time for it to get to the Village Office by November 3.
-
In Person Delivery: Village staff can take your absentee ballot at the Village Office, 215 E. Four Mile Road, during normal business hours, Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
-
Secure Drop Box: There is a secure drop box located outside the Village Office, next to the Village Green tennis courts that can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
-
Drop Off at Polls on Election Day: You can return your absentee ballot directly to the Chief Election Inspector at the polls. Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.
Absentee Voting – in person
In person voting will begin on Tuesday, October 20 at the Village Office. Hours will be on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The final day to vote in person is Friday, October 30. The Village will be offering drive up absentee voting. Simply follow the signs, as shown in the map below, and pull up to the blue tent with the "Vote Here" sign, located outside the Village Office.
A motion sensor alarm will alert staff in the office that you have arrived. A Village staff member will come out to assist you with voting. There will be no need for you to leave your car. Due to the need for Village office staff to come within six feet of your car with a ballot we are requesting that you wear as mask when coming to vote. Village staff will be wearing masks and all equipment used by voters will be sterilized and cleaned between voters.
