A message from
Kim Vogt,
President
Dear GRAPE Members,

The summer is winding down and the GRAPE Calendar Year of 2020-2021 is starting up, but looking much different from when we kicked things off a year ago. As we move ahead with programming, we will provide our breakfast and lunch educational sessions virtually. For at least the first half of the year, we anticipate that these sessions will remain virtual. We are hopeful that by 2021 we will be able to have in-person sessions or some combination of in-person mixed with virtual, fingers crossed.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without our amazing members. I would like to thank all of our members who have renewed their membership and encourage those who have not to renew today. Please feel free to reach out to the office if you need assistance or go to our website and renew your membership online.

Our organization has many committees for our members to join and this is a great way to become even more involved in GRAPE. The committees are Advocacy, Annual Gala, Budget & Finance, By-Laws, Marketing, Membership, Program and The ElderPages Directory. We have two special interest groups as well, Senior Housing Alliance and Holiday Gifts for Seniors. Information regarding each committee is available online under the Get Involved tab. The Program Committee is currently looking for members and most committees need a “few more good people” to join. Committees usually meet once a month and then pause during the summer months. Please consider joining a committee. If you need more information please contact Carol or myself and we can assist in matching you with a committee.

In closing, a big thank you to Carol Bartlett for leading GRAPE through the pandemic. Her creativity, commitment, determination, perseverance and tenacity have served GRAPE well. We appreciate you Carol!

All my best,
Kim

Thank you to Solstice Senior Living Fairport for hosting our networking meeting in August.

The format will be via ZOOM to start and will move to in person meetings when we are able. We will continue with a morning time meeting (8am) the third Wednesday of the month and a lunch time meeting (noon) for the fourth Tuesday of the month. See details below for the September meetings and bring your coffee or lunch and join us online!

Long time GRAPE Member Cheryl Ann Bilski of Functional Interiors/Purchase One Services was kind enough to share something she wrote for the October 2011 GRAPEvine. It was very interesting to read the history of GRAPE and we wanted to share it with all of you - especially newer members that may have never heard this before - READ HERE and thank you Cheryl Ann!
The GRAPE year and all memberships ended on June 30. You can renew now by using the pay buttons when you login to your GRAPE account or by contacting the GRAPE office at
(585) 256-4351 or info@grapelder.org. This has been a strange and difficult time for our group and we thank all of our members for supporting GRAPE and each other so we can move forward.
THANK YOU TO THE 225+ MEMBERS WHO HAVE RENEWED ALREADY!
