Virtual Chapter Meetings
PTG members continue to adapt to challenges and a recent survey of PTG chapter presidents and vice presidents has shown some positive results.
We’ll be sharing ideas in the upcoming October LeaderLetter for maximizing your virtual meeting experience, finding presenters and engaging members, but here are a few things we learned:
  • Most chapters offering virtual meetings are using the Zoom platform. It’s easy and has good training videos. Many chapters have purchased their own subscriptions.
  • Attendance for many chapters has equaled or exceeded onsite meetings. Distance isn’t an issue with virtual meetings.
  • Some chapters have held or are planning joint meetings with other chapters. They also publicize their meetings to other chapters.
A big thanks to those who responded to the survey. It’s not too late to share your ideas directly via the email you received or to the Virtual Meetings post in the Chapter Leaders community at my.ptg.org. Please contact Kathy Maxwell at kathy@ptg.org if you have comments or questions. All members are welcome to view the Chapter Resources area at www.ptg.org.
Tips, Tools & Techniques Searchable Database
TT&T editor Scott Cole has compiled a list of more 800 individual TT&T articles and they are now available as a searchable index at www.ptg.org/ttt. You can search by keyword, title, author or topic. This list contains every TT&T item published in the Piano Technicians Journal from May 1994 to April 2020. Items going back to January 2008 are currently linked to Journal PDF’s. This is a work in progress, so check back for updates.
