Jill's September 2020 Vision:

When I think of lifestyle, it evokes all areas of a person's focus, not just what we buy or where we live.

When you think of your lifestyle today and how you are living it, are you getting a good feeling? Are you somewhat off? Or really far apart from the landscape you want to see?

Do you have a vision for your lifestyle?

If not, grab a piece of paper and write down your wishes in the following areas:

How you want to feel physically: How do you want to look, eat, exercise, feel in your body this welcoming, new season?

How you want to feel mentally: How do you feed yourself cognitively- are you mentally growing? Are you educating yourself on a daily basis? How good do you feel in your subject of interest whether that be finances, cooking, teaching or woodworking? What can you be researching, brainstorming, learning more about in the name of expanding your skills and your mind?

How you want to feel emotionally: Are you lonely? Who do you need more from, less from? Is your heart open or closed? How do you feed yourself emotionally?

How you want to feel spiritually: Do you feel connected to something greater? Do you feel afraid and anxious a lot of the time? If so, chances are you are lacking something spiritual within yourself. Is this an area you might want to explore, whatever that looks and feels like for you? Reflect on that, open your spirit and your energy field so that you feel connected, aligned, protected and closely held.

Cast the net wide. Dream as big as you can.

September is a month for setting goals, stepping into a new energy space, executing dreams and manifesting visions.

Caveat: Don't share your ideas with those who you know deep down in your heart don't see what you do. Protect your dreams, your imaginings, your hopes, your wishes. Gremlins love to get in there through other people who might poke holes in your visions, potentially throwing you off course.

You believing is enough. Your intentions are the seeds.

"Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." ~Napoleon Hill.

Move forward this month in faith, in trust, in true authentic power of knowing you are aligned with what you say you want- this is what brings peace.

If you haven't gotten a wake-up call by now to live and love fully, what on earth are you waiting for?

All good things...

What we're reading this month and why you should too...

Becoming Bulletproof
by Evy Poumpouras

I always try to have two takeaways from each book. Here are mine for this one:

  • Great tips for achieving mental resiliency from a former special agent of the US Secret Service.

  • Concrete, specific actions for negotiating with others, developing relationships and enhancing one's self-esteem

Becoming Bulletproof is easy to read, engaging and compelling- Poumpouras shares stories from her time spent on the job during 9/11 and serving several US Presidents.

One of my favorite excerpts from the book:

"There has never been any one person in my life that I called my personal mentor. As is the case for so many people, that simply wasn't a luxury that I had access to growing up. I had to figure out a lot of things on my own....it taught me to look for important lessons in everyone around me so that I could continue building my character and diligently discard those qualities I found unappealing. So, the next time you see someone you admire or even despise, ask yourself, "What is it about this person I can learn from?" Each observation, both good and bad, can become your guidepost."
September Astrological Forecast

Sun/Moon Forecast for All Signs:

  • Sun in Virgo until 9/21: Get organized, do detail work and writing, or any projects that require a fine-tooth comb. Ideal time for any type of self-care, especially improving diet and healthy eating.
  • Sun enters Libra 9/22 (until October 21): Focus is more on relationships and balance in all areas of life. Great time for home improvement and making house/yard more beautiful.
  • Full Moon in Pisces 9/2: Optimal time to let go of all that doesn’t serve you. Intuition is high so listen to dreams, signs and synchronicities and follow any artistic or creative inspirations.
  • New Moon in Virgo 9/17: This healing energy will help you hit the reset button and start fresh with better routines. Great for planting seeds of intention to manifest in the final days of the month.

Essential oils you need to know about...

Thieves essential oil
Thieves is a popular oil blend for Fall. It fills any space with a rich, spicy aroma that smells like Fall baking and is also the go-to for cleaning and promoting a strong immune system.

Best usages:
  • One drop daily under the tongue, bottom of foot or added to tea to build immunity
  • Diffuse in any room to destroy bacteria including Staph and inhibit growth of viruses
  • Gargling with warm water then swallowing to help relieve a sore throat
  • One drop topically to an annoying canker sore.
*A drop a day keeps the doctor away,
so order soon!

This month go through your closet and choose:

  • Comfy clothes that you enjoy wearing and yet still support your vision

  • Classic pieces that can last year after year

  • Chic fashion statements...choose bolder colors than what you're used to, take a bigger step towards who it is you're becoming.

Seasonal Recipe

Pesto Pizza

  • Start with dough, rolled out and
seasoned with olive oil. (I use gluten-free, located in the frozen section at your local grocery store.)
  • Make Pesto "sauce" as your base:
Combine 2 large garlic cloves, 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, 1/4 cup pine nuts or walnuts. (I use walnuts for the Omega-3's.)
Combine in food processor or blender.
  • With machine running, add 1/2 cup of
olive oil. Add 2-4 cups of fresh basil (I use 4 cups) and season to taste with salt and pepper. Spread across dough.
  • Top with canned artichoke hearts,
pitted green olives, organic chicken, feta cheese and any other topping you prefer.
  • Bake on a pizza stone at 400 degrees
for 15-20 minutes, depending on the oven.

The benefits of walking:

Try walking 5 times a week for 30-60 minutes with a friend or by yourself listening to a podcast. Enjoy the fresh air and the clarity of mind that comes from being outside with your feet planted firmly on the ground getting your heart rate up and your cardio box checked.

Want to add toning to your upper and lower body?

Do daily push-ups.
Try 15 every morning- all the way down to the floor and up again- work to get to 20.

Push-ups work the back, your core, your butt, your legs, and you will notice a difference after a couple of weeks.

Planting the Seeds are created by a licensed mental health therapist. Each card is designed to strengthen a child's cognitive outlook and develop and enhance their self-esteem. Children are most successful with confidence, self-worth and abilities to apply in appropriate social interactions when they have a strong foundation in social emotional skills. This resource targets all these areas!

P.S... Planting the Seeds cards make GREAT social and emotional tools for teachers during morning and afternoon meetings as well as parents at home.
