Worship with Us
Christ Church is open for indoor worship at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. If you do not feel comfortable joining us, the live stream of the 10:00 a.m. service will continue to be posted on our You Tube channel! You can watch it in real time or at your convenience. Find it here.

We are monitoring the presence of the Covid virus in our community on www.covidactnow.org. If there another surge to dangerous levels in our area, we will re-evaluate our protocols for gathering and you will be notified by email. A notice will also be posted on our website, www.christchurchnewton.org. We encourage you to follow best practices for your own health and safety and consider the welfare of others in our community.

Notes from the Choirs
As we begin our program year this September, we acknowledge that this pandemic has had its impact upon us all. The Senior Choir has not met together since March, 2020. We hope to be gathering this fall for rehearsals, masked and socially distanced in the nave of the church so that when we are permitted to sing together in the tight space of the chancel, we will be ready to do so.

In the meantime, we plan to support congregational singing by joining the congregation and singing from amongst all. Each week, we will have a quartet from the choir in the chancel to sing an anthem. When conditions support returning to normal, we will do so.

If anyone would like to sing with the choir, please speak with Joe Mello, Director of Music, either after a service or by calling/texting 862-268-4720. You may also just come to rehearsal in the church on Thursdays at 7:30 pm beginning September 9th. All are welcome and questions may be directed to the number above.

As far as the Junior Choir is concerned, we feel that it would not be prudent to begin rehearsals without an end goal of singing in church. With that in mind, we will begin a music ministry with our young children through our wonderful Sunday School program. Debbie Mello and Suzie Middlestat will work with children during the month of September to enhance the Sunday School curriculum. Singing will be offered to the children who attend Sunday School when we can be outside. This will be a way to reintroduce singing skills to the children of Christ Church. We will offer this on a month to month basis dependent upon having outdoor activities during Sunday School. If you have children who would enjoy participating, please enroll your child in Sunday School, which runs concurrent with the 10:00 am service. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Debbie Mello after a service or by calling/texting 973-670-4556.
