Villas of Wind Point Development Update
On Thursday, August 12, the Village Board approved Newport Development’s request for an extension to the conditional rezoning of the former school property. The property was rezoned last August from Institutional District to Multi-Family Residential District with a Planned Development Overlay. As a condition of original rezoning approval, Newport Development was required to begin construction on the development's infrastructure improvements, including roads, stormwater, sanitary sewer and water, within one year of the original rezoning approval. Due to delays related to Newport's examination of various alternatives for the sanitary sewer system, they were unable to meet the construction start deadline of August 2020.

The approval of the rezoning extension requires Newport Development to begin construction on its infrastructure within the next six months. Newport will also be required to hold public information meetings for Wind Point residents with updates on the project's status.

More information about the project including information on approved building design, emergency access & traffic, roads, parking, sanitary sewer and the stormwater pond can be found on the Village's Villas of Wind Point development project page by clicking here.

Village Budget Wins Award for
Seventh Straight Year
For the seventh consecutive year, the Village of Wind Point has received a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award form the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). In order to receive this award a government must publish a budget document that meets nationally recognized guidelines and program criteria as a policy document, as a financial plan, as an operations guide and as a communications device.

The award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and it is a significant achievement for Village. The award reflects the commitment of the Village Board and Village staff to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting.

The Village previously received GFOA awards in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
COVID-19 Vaccine Information
One the most effective ways to stop the spread of COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. Vaccines are safe, effective, free and widely available. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) recommends that everyone ages 12 and older get a COVID-19 vaccine to protect themselves and others from COVID-19.

Wisconsin residents are now eligible for a $100 vaccination award if they receive their first dose at a vaccination site before September 6, 2021. More information on the rewards program can be found on the DHS Website.

Below are helpful search tools and services where you can find locations to get a COVID-19 vaccination:

  • Vaccines.gov- From the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. You just need to enter your ZIP code and the search tool will identify locations near you.

  • 211 Wisconsin- This site will help you find pop-up or one-day vaccination clinics near you.
