SRJC welcomed new 27 new bearcubs from 18 countries to campus this Fall! We also have students taking online classes from Brazil, China, Ghana, Japan, Madagascar, Peru, Senegal, and UAE. ISP wishes you all an amazing fall semester! Let us know how we can help make it great.

The International Club had its first meeting this week! It was awesome, but we still need a President and Treasurer to step up for Fall 2021! If you are interested in either position, please email Becky this weekend. If these positions do not get filled soon, then the club cannot activate this semester. SRJC campuses will be closed and classes are cancelled on Monday, September 6th for the Labor Day holiday. We hope you all enjoy the long weekend! Take some time to rest and relax - you deserve it!

This is our final reminder that you must enroll in 12 units by First Census Day to maintain your F-1 status at SRJC in Fall 2021. More important dates and deadlines, like the last day to add classes, drop without a "W" grade, and receive a refund are on the Academic Calendar.

If you cannot meet the full-time requirement because of a medical or academic reason, you must obtain Reduced Course Load (RCL) authorization before you drop a class! See the Visa Requirements and COVID-19 Guidance webpages for more information for F-1 students.

We can't wait to meet everyone who has registered for COUN 270: Introduction to College (1249) in-person for a Campus Tour on Friday, September 17th from 2-4pm! See you in the Bertolini Student Activities Center room 4734. You can still add this class until 9/13!

As an F-1 Student, you are eligible for certain types of employment, but you must obtain authorization before you start working. If ISP is presented with evidence that you worked without authorization, we are required by law to terminate your SEVIS record/F-1 status.

The SRJC Emergency Grant (Option 2) is available for any international student who has been impacted by COVID-19! You can request an application online and allow 2-4 weeks for processing. 

Prepare a written statement explaining how COVID has impacted you as a student (e.g. sponsor's loss of income) and that you need help paying for your academic expense (e.g. books, laptop, tuition) so you can remain enrolled during these difficult times. Keep it simple, but be specific!
