Event: An Introduction to the Soil for Water Project
Wednesday, September 8, 2021 (3:00 PM - 4:00 PM MST)
In this webinar, hosted by the Drought Learning Network of the Southwest Climate Hub, Mike Morris and Kara Kroeger will explain how NCAT's Soil for Water project is building a peer-to-peer network of innovative farmers and ranchers who are bringing degraded soils back to life and discovering ways to catch and store more water in their soils. An acre of deep healthy soil can hold hundreds of thousands of gallons of water. How can we capture the full water conservation potential of healthy soil? And to what extent can the “soil sponge” help us reduce drought impacts and cope with climate change? The webinar is intended for resource managers, agency professionals, NGOs, farmers, ranchers, and others interested in soil and water conservation.
