Golf Tournament
3rd Annual Golf Tournament
Monday, October 18th, 2021
10 am Check in opens  | 12pm Shotgun start

Co-Chairs Dr. Heather Tally and Kimberly Johnson are inviting you to be involved in our first fundraising event of the year! The Golf Tournament is 6 weeks away and we need everyone to be involved at some level.
 
We are asking for each of you to do two or more of the following areas:
 
  • Posting the golf tournament information and Link on your social media
  • Email your business contacts ask them to participate at some level
  • Inviting friends/family who play Golf to Sign up and play or sign up yourself to play
  • Have you Husband sign up with 3 friends to play
  • Sponsor a hole for only $250 donation
  • Sponsorship at one of the available levels
  • Sign up to VOLUNTEER at the Tournament

Get Your Nature On!

Sunset Sips at Chattahoochee Nature Center

Join us for a laid-back evening on the Great Lawn or Covered Outdoor Pavilion as we enjoy an evening of great music, great friends and great fun! This evening is the last one for the season at the Nature Center.

Explore the grounds before the concert… visit with Wildlife on the Wildlife Walk or Cool off on the shaded hiking trails!

Junior Member Social Event
We have had a change of date -- the social planned for Wednesday, September 29, will now be held on Thursday, September 30.
The Sipping Plant

7:00 pm
Our Junior Member social event will be at The Sipping Plant in Sandy Springs at 7:00 PM on September 30 and it will cost $45 per person to attend. Please RSVP by September 23 to [email protected]
Membership
Membership is in full swing. Please fill out your membership application whether you are a new member or an existing member. Remember to send your dues to either Charlene Rowe or online.

It is that time to grow our membership. Please help us by sponsoring new members into The Circle. Applications were mailed to you. If you need additional, they can be found online on The Circle website.

September 26, Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, High Tea Meet and Greet at Indian Hills Country Club.
We will have a hat competition so pull out your best hat.

Annual Event
Devereux Update
A big THANK YOU for the generous donations of composition books and word searches to help the needs of the youth at Devereux that I collected at the August 25 meeting. A huge success! BJ's SUV trunk was filled! The amount collected and delivered to Devereux was $551.05. Your donations will put smiles on the staff and children at Devereux. A huge thanks to Heather Rees for acting as our collection spot for those members not able to attend the meeting.

Please look in your Circle membership packet that was sent out and you will find 2 important papers that list all the Donations for Devereux and Devereux Volunteer Events for the 
2021 - 2022. Mark your calendar or put them in your day planner.

Devereux is a non-profit organizations and for their accounting purposes I need to provide an amount with our donations from The Circle. October 29, 2021 Harvest Festival 11:30 am Set-up 1-4 pm Event Outdoor festival with carnival, set up and interactive themed, booth, assist w/passing out snack and candy. 10 Volunteers needed. SignUpGenius will go out before the event.

BJ Wooldridge will help Devereux with the decorations for Thanksgiving and Christmas for the cafeteria.
Scholarship Update
Would you like to interact with a Circle Scholar? The Scholarship committee is looking for volunteers to follow students.

You will check in with them occasionally (text messaging seems to be the preferred Gen Z communication method), send cards or care packages, and possibly meet them for lunch periodically. If your interested or have questions about serving as a Scholar mentor, please contact Doris Van Wagenen or Belinda Vogel
Updated Bylaws
The Circle for Children update bylaws. There was a Special Committee appointed for review and amendments of the bylaws consisting of: Heather Rees, Rita Furness, Kimberly Johnson, Cindy Formica, Elaine LaMontagne, Danielle Houret-Lam, Cathy Haire, and Dottie Rachels. 
  
The Executive Board and the Board of Directors voted to approve the bylaw amendments. The Amendments were presented at the Meeting on August 25th and were approved via a vote by the General Membership. 

The new bylaws will be on the Circle website as well as printed in the 2021-2022 Directory. 
Access the Directory online with new Password! The new 2020-2021 directory of active Circle members can now be viewed on our website. For the privacy of all members, the directory is password protected. You can access the directory under the membership tab on the website.

Please send any Circle Correspondence to [email protected] for announcements of births, loss of loved ones, outstanding events or illnesses. Please include the individual's address so the corresponding secretary can send the appropriate correspondence. Also, indicate if the information should be posted in the newsletter.
