A Message from our President/CEO:
Dear Friends of United Way,

You will see in this issue what an amazing month September has been for United Way and our community as a whole! Thanks to numerous Edgers, volunteers, sponsors, and donors, we raised over $92,000 for our community impact fund through our most successful Over the Edge event. I can’t wait for you to read more about it below and check out some pictures too! I commend all of you who had a part in making this event so successful! But fall is just beginning!

We have started many United Way workplace campaigns, offering employees of various businesses the opportunity to hear about our community needs, to learn of the amazing local programs we have vetted to address them, and to potentially donate through payroll deduct to help us reach our $1.2M goal this year! We are so grateful for our business partners who extend their employees this opportunity to learn how to Give, Advocate and Volunteer in our local community!

If you’re wondering how you or your business can get in on this action, let us know! We welcome new businesses to join our community of supporters that are committed to making a difference to those that need it most. What better way to have some workplace fun than working together to do something amazing for our community? We welcome individuals too as volunteers and donors, of course!

We look forward to connecting with many of you this next month as we prove together that UNITED WE CAN!

Sincerely,
Danielle Peterson

Community Building & Impact/Volunteer Engagement Intern

Development & Marketing Intern

Why Intern at United Way?
"Interning at the United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-States was a great experience! They were flexible with my schedule and worked with me to ensure that my internship met the requirements set forth by my college for a Public Relations major. They allowed me the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects to build my portfolio and I was able to learn a lot about the world of nonprofit marketing! It was a great way to earn college credit while making an impact on my community!"- Jenna Meehan, Summer 2020 Development & Marketing Intern

Board Member Canidates

Dubuque County Early Childhood, a nonprofit organization, is seeking board members. The board receives state funding to build community partnerships and programs that serve children age birth to five. Board members work together as leaders and advocates to help address early childhood needs in the area.
At this time, the board is seeking male citizens living in Dubuque County who are interested in appointments to 3-year terms. This is due to Iowa's gender balance law for public boards. However, female citizens also are welcome to apply for future openings. Call 588-1620, email director@dcearlychild.org, or visit www.dcearlychild.org.
Whether you make a one-time gift or set up recurring monthly payments, every donation matters.
We are stronger together!
