The IAW Foundation team is excited and honored to welcome the newest member of our Board of Trustees - Mehrzad Khajenoori! Ms. Khajenoori served as the Finance Director and recently as the Board Treasurer at the Youth Law Center, a San Francisco-based nonprofit whose mission is to advocate for children in the foster care and juvenile justice system and standing up for children at risk. She has been an SFCASA (San Francisco Court Appointed Special Advocate) since 2007, volunteering to advocate for at-risk children who are at the mercy of the court system. At the 40th anniversary celebration of Youth Law Center, Ms. Khajenoori was awarded “Unsung Hero,” the organization’s highest honor. Ms. Khajenoori’s new venture is “Such is Life,” an art firm that she recently founded, which is central to who she is and where her passion lies. The firm’s mission is to work with new, recycled, and antique materials to repair and/or create new heirloom pieces that become visual arts manifestations of a client’s vision, actualized in thread and textile.
We are so thankful for Ms. Khajenoori's continued support over the years, and we look forward to having her knowledge and expertise on board as we work to inspire, empower, and connect our community!
