Labor Day weekend is the perfect time to register for fall classes!
Whether needles, brushes, pencils, or a variety of implements are in your toolkit, SAS has an arts & crafts course to help you hone your skills in a social, welcoming atmosphere. With strict enrollment caps to ensure you receive individualized attention, many of our classes do fill quickly. Please add your name to the wait list if you are interested as we do open additional sections whenever possible.
To meet demand, we have just added a Wednesday morning Knitting for All Levels (11541) class with Melissa Shinsato, in addition to her Tuesday evening and Thursday morning classes. Starting on September 14, 2022, this new section is open for registration.
September Watercolor Painting courses with Hope Friedland and Anne Johann are full but space is still available in a Mixed Media class (11488) with new instructor Satish Joshi that begins Friday, September 16, 2022 (watercolor, pastels, collage, decoupage, acrylic paints, and more) as well as several painting classes that start in early October. Katie Goldberg's Painting with Collage (11441) begins on Monday, October 3, 2022, and Christian Kunze's Watercolor Painting for Beginners and Beyond (11484) begins on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

|
Kunze also leads an in-person Deep Dive into Drawing class (11476) starting on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, with spots still available. New instructor Jessica Lou, an experienced florist and art teacher, will introduce students to Drawing Flowers with Watercolor Pencils (11531) on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Anne Johann's drawing class, Drawing: An Invaluable Skill and a Fascinating Medium (11399), is online and begins on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.
Late in October, Robin Ingram will lead an evening two-session class for students to Learn to Make a Wall Basket (11483). Participants will leave with a finished product that is great for storing magazines or other papers.

In case you missed last week's announcement, three new weekend walking tours have just been added to the catalog and are immediately open for registration. Historic Irvington and Tarrytown (11539) ventures along the Old Croton Aqueduct to take in some of Westchester's most spectacular views and the grounds of famous mansions on Sunday, September 18, 2022. The following month, explore the rich history of the Village center with its Tudor-inspired architecture on Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Development of Downtown Scarsdale (11538). Then, on Saturday, October, 15, 2022, marvel at the transformation of a marble quarry into a spectacular park with Hudson River views on a guided four-mile loop of Quarry Park on the Aqueduct (11540)
Riva Blumenfeld's Walking Tour: Galleries of Chelsea (11405) has been postponed to Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
All classes fill on a first-come/first-served basis. Register early to ensure your spot in all limited enrollment in-person tours. If your desired course is already full, add your name to the wait list to be contacted in the event of an opening or the scheduling of additional tours.
