FCS Governance Team Goals 2023
The FCS Governance Team (Board and Superintendent) goals for the 2023 year were reviewed, which included:
- student and staff safety,
- alignment of strategies, initiatives, and resources to the FCS Learner Profile,
- effective and efficient financial planning, and making our large schools feel small.
Finance Report
This month's financial update included year-to-date budget reports, investment reports, capital project analysis, a budget summary for special revenue funds, and SPLOST activity for August.

Action Items
School-Based Health Center
The Board approved a memorandum of understanding between FCS and Georgia Highlands Medical for the purpose of opening the first School-Based Health Center (SBHC) in Forsyth County.
A Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Clinical Social Worker have been secured for the SBHC at Cumming Elementary School. FCS will be providing physical space to accommodate the SBHC.
These centers have been proven to increase attendance rates and decrease dropout rates. They also lower Medicaid costs, reduce emergency room usage, and allow more time for parents/guardians to remain at work, which increases families' financial security.
