All That's Happening at the YWCA

We’re all about community at the YWCA. This place and this organization have long been a vital part of Adams County.

I’ve mentioned that previously, in this very space, and it's something I could feel immediately, upon my first visit and henceforth, every day.

I know it was a struggle during the worst days of Covid (as it was for many places) but we’re feeling pretty healthy these days around here.

Right now, I’m happy to tell you that I’ve become an official resident of this community. That’s right, I’m in the process of moving in and my new address is conveniently close to my office here at 909 Fairfield Road. It feels great to have a Gettysburg address.

So as the seasons begin to change, so do I, into your new neighbor. Feels like home!

This is the weekend to commit!

Maybe you’re just busy, lots going on these last few weeks in particular. Perhaps you just weren’t ready to spend the money - understandable. Or, maybe you just sometimes, well, procrastinate just a bit. (Who doesn't?)

Labor Day weekend is here, it’s time to sign up for this new 10 Mile experience and if you do it between now and Monday night, you’ll save some substantial cash, like maybe $15 or so.

We are extremely grateful for your patience and understanding these last few weeks, as our ultra-popular swimming pool received a full cleansing.

It was drained and scrubbed and won’t look like this on Tuesday when we reopen. The pool will be all full of itself and ready to welcome you back!

Can You Walk The Walk?

After an extended absence, we are delighted to announce the return of the Unity Walk! This short stroll around the grounds of the Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center is truly a late summer/early autumn delight that has been missed. Join us for the triumphant return of the Unity Walk on September 16th. All the details, as well as info on the many other mission-related events, are here on our Advocacy Calendar.

We say goodbye to two esteemed employees, with every good wish.

Jenn Vintigni has served the YWCA in a few different capacities over the years, but truly distinguished herself and made many friends as Sports and Fitness Director.

Lisa Baer has played an integral part in the YW’s childcare structure as Child Enrichment Program Director at our Adams Commerce Center location.

It won't be long now.
