Pickleball Anyone?

Sept. 25

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Maggie Daley Tennis Courts

South Loop Neighbors will host a Pickleball Clinic for beginners and advanced beginners on Sunday, Despite its funny name, pickleball is America’s fastest growing sport. Similar to tennis, it’s played on a smaller court with a solid paddle

and a plastic whiffle ball. It’s easy to learn and fun to play. The courts are at the eastern edge of Maggie Daley Park…east of the skating ribbon…east of the Cancer Survivors Park. Keep going east along the park path. The courts are just southwest of Randolph St. and Lake Shore Dr.

For directions or other info, contact Greg Borzo: 312-636-8968;

South Loop Neighbors will provide balls, paddles (but bring your own, if you

have one!) and instruction, as well as ice-cold soft drinks – all for free.

Rain date: Sunday, Oct. 9 from 2 – 4 pm

Fall Pub Crawl

Oct. 30

2 pm to 6 pm

We will be announcing the details of our Fall Pub Crawl soon, as well as taking reservations. Rumor has it there may be an optional Halloween costume contest involved! Stay tuned for more information.

Planning & Development

Opposition to demolition of four GSA owned buildings on S. State St.

The South Loop Neighbors has joined with the Chicago Loop Alliance, Chicago Central Area Committee and the Loop Neighbors in strongly opposing the demolition of the four buildings owned by the U.S. General Service Administration on S. State St. To see the letter of opposition with the reasoning, click here.
Development update
A roundup of what's proposed and underway for the South Loop was the program at our annual meeting in January. You can watch it on YouTube.
