Scarsdale Adult School E-News
September 2022
Performing Arts
Performers need not wait any longer to return to the stage! Scarsdale Adult School is thrilled to announce that all of our Performing Arts classes this fall are once again in person.

Acting and Improv (11430) with Erika Radin had its first of six classes on Wednesday and in-person courses for aspiring pianists, violinists, ukulele players, drummers, bell ringers, guitarists, and actors all begin soon.

Group Piano Lessons for Beginner & Intermediate Students (11445) starts this Wednesday afternoon with new instructor Jamie Reynolds.

Beginning Friday, September 30, 2022, Donna Elaine returns to teach Ring Your Bell!, a kinesthetic class that requires no home practice or instrument ownership. Experienced Players should register for Course 11542 and Beginners should sign up for Course 11450. The same day, new instructor Mark Kushnir will lead Learn to Play the Violin (11449). Students must bring a violin to class but need not know how to use it.

No previous musical experience is necessary for World Drumming (11451) with Glen Rhian, starting Monday, October 3, 2022. Students will be provided instruments and instruction on how to read rhythmic notation. Andrew Marino also returns that day to teach leveled classes on ukulele. Learn to Play the Ukulele for Beginners (11447) is ideal for those without strumming experience while Club Ukulele (11448) provides a group setting to learn new songs and meet other ukulele enthusiasts.

Learn to Play the Guitar (11446) with Rolf Sturm has just been postponed. The new start date is Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Class will meet for nine sessions instead of ten and the price has been adjusted accordingly.

The final performing arts course scheduled for the fall term is Playreading (11477) with Erika Radin. Students will prepare, rehearse, and ultimately present a reading of a play to be determined based upon the number of students enrolled. No theater experience is required. The final class will be a live performance that friends and family are invited to attend.
