School is back in swing for our local teachers and students. Our college students have headed back for another semester. The Library still has a calendar full of events that are open to the public. Many are in person and online via our YouTube channel. We are also hosting a special reading challenge just for the month of September. We hope you can join us.

BELINDA's BOOK NOTES

As the Joseph Henry Gilmore Professor of English at the University of Rochester, and a highly regarded figure in the field of literary criticism and poetry, there are many, and will be many more, tributes to Jim Longenbach, online and in academic journals from friends, scholars, fellow poets, and writers. What follows here is a tribute from one person in his Stonington Library community as we mourn the loss of a friend who brought richness to our lives in the wealth of his poetry and critical works and in his deep love of this place and the people in it.

LIBRARY SERVICES
Each month, Assistant Director Karla Boeddinghaus Umland will be highlighting services offered by Stonington Free Library.

Our digital library keeps growing! Thanks to the Connecticut State Library, Stonington Free Library patrons can now borrow ebooks and audiobooks from The Palace Project.

FROM THE CHILDREN'S ROOM

Summer 2022 made us feel that things were moving back toward normal. We appreciate everyone who joined our Summer Reading Program and hope that you had fun reading, shopping in the store, finishing your challenge if you were a Little and getting your prize, and deciding where to put your basket raffle tickets.
