Welcome to our newsletter. Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Mid Century Modern
Designed to compliment the mid-century lakeside main house nearby, the 1,700 sf Mid Century Modern guest house hugs the sloping site and provides wonderful views of Cobbosseecontee Lake in Monmouth. DMA worked within very strict shoreland zoning restrictions to capture as much space and building height as possible, which resulted in a multi-level cottage that evokes the natural landscape. Landscape Architecture by Cowles Studio, construction by Derek Chapman
Masquerade on the Kennebec
Main Street Bath's largest fundraiser is right around the corner, literally, it's at the Maine Maritime Museum on Saturday September 24 at 7pm. The annual fundraiser allows MSB to sponsor many other free events throughout the year benefitting our downtown.

This years' fundraiser is a masquerade ball with a dessert bar and cash bar from Cook's Lobster House, as well as the 9-piece Maine Street R&B Revue.

Tickets can be purchased at the MSB office or online here.

If you can't make it to the gala, you can always donate here, it's just not as fun.
Kennebec Terrace
The two bedroom guest studio is just about ready for occupation to allow the owners to move into half of the Kennebec Terrace while the main house finishes construction. The exterior decks finalize the massing to help settle the buildings into the landscape and provide the ability to appreciate the views of the Kennebec River. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
Office Outing
DMA's summer office outing to Long Island in Casco Bay might turn into an annual event which will include jumping into the ocean from the pier. Combining our team with Jeanne Handy Designs, we enjoyed a day off at the beach, lobsters and oysters, and the jump. A beautiful sunset awaited the ride home on the ferry.
Music Man
The Studio Theatre of Bath and Chocolate Church are excited to bring the Music Man to stage. Scheduled for Sept 8 through the 18th at the Chocolate Church in Bath. A perfect way to end the summer, Music Man tickets can be purchased here.
Summertime Fun
Can you guess our team's summer fun this year?

You can't miss Josh and his daughter boating on Junior Lake in Lakeville, Maine below. Top right is Allison's family reunion along Lake Michigan in Omena, Michigan. Middle right is Scott hiking Katahdin with his two daughters.(starting a midnight to see the sunrise on top of the mountain! ) And Sophi bottom right enjoying the Desert of Maine.

Views from the Job site
What a transformation for this cottage along Forest Lake in Cumberland. DMA worked within shoreland restrictions to greatly increase daylight and views to the water, along with an increase in volume which enabled the owners to add a loft space over the existing first floor footprint.
