Are you civically engaged?
Inspire Civic Engagement
During the month of September OYC kicked off its Inspire Civic Engagement initiatives or I.C.E. on National Voter Registration Day. OYC staff registered to do their civic duties, by making sure they were registered to vote. Also, during the month of September youth learned about justice and the environment, by participating in a hands-on experience at Miami Dade College.

PINK For A Purpose
Support OYC Post High and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation, as they raise money for breast cancer. During the month of October, OYC, will wear pink with a purpose to bring about awareness to breast cancer.

South Florida's Historical Black University, Florida Memorial University, hosted an internship fair where OYC met with bright scholars from the university. OYC was honored to participate in this engagement event, as top talent from Florida Memorial University came out and shared their experiences and passion.
Step Up with
OYC Post-High
Fit. Fun. Fantastic. OYC's College and Career team partnered with This Black Girl Fit, to promote health and wellness in our community. OYC’s College and Career team aimed to provide an engaging and inclusive fitness experience for our Post-High students and staff, and this event reached its goal. 
AT&T Connected
Learning Center Launch
We are proud to announce our partnership with AT&T with the launch of the Connected Learning Center. The AT&T Connected Learning Center at OYC Miami is one of 26 launched around the globe! This new initiative will provide access to cutting-edge technology, free Wi-Fi, and a digital learning platform....

Overtown Young Professionals (OYP) is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39. OYP exists to empower future leaders of our community to engage, connect and support the mission of the Overtown Youth Center. OYP members will serve as ambassadors to raise awareness about the transformational programs that provide youth and families the support necessary to bridge educational, social, emotional, and opportunity gaps that exist in urban communities.
