On behalf of the board of directors, I’d like to welcome old and new members to our fall semester. We are excited to continue our wonderful programs and activities. As you know, we have a variety of interesting classes which will certainly expand your mind and enrich your experiences. I am ready to explore poetry, talk about aging, cook with Carol, and learn about the butterflies of Cape Cod!
If you haven’t registered yet, you still can – go to our website capecodall.org to check out the open classes and fill out a registration form and send with payment. ALL members, be sure to check your emails for updates and information about taking an extra class at no cost. An email will be sent to all members regarding adding an extra class.
Our Special Events committee is busy planning some very interesting special events. You’ll be hearing about them soon, so check your email.
Are you an artist, photographer, quilter? We would love to display some of your creative work in our lobby/gallery. Right now, Larry Brown will be displaying some of his favorite photos from last year. Contact lifelonglearning@capcod.edu if you are interested.
We are looking for desk volunteers for the first few weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Email lifelonglearning@capecod.edu if you’d like to help answer phone or the questions of our members.
Remember that checking your email is important as an ALL member. Our monthly newsletter and email reminders will keep you updated about what’s happening. Check our website for a variety of information and listen to some of our podcasts. The interviews of our coordinators and members truly are enlightening.
Also, plan on submitting something creative to our Reflections Magazine. June Calender has stepped aside after being editor and contributor for many years. She and her committee published a very special, creative magazine which gave our talented members a voice and an audience. Thanks again, June. Maggie French and her team will continue publishing Reflections, so plan on submitting something soon. Information is listed later in this newsletter and more reminders will be emailed.
Lastly, there has been a small uptick in Covid cases; having finally contracted it two weeks ago, I know it is still around. It’s more like a bad cold, but it’s tiring. Do what makes you feel comfortable – wear a mask if you want to, it’s your choice. We respect that.
See you very soon – looking forward to another year of learning, sharing, and connecting!
