First of all, I look forward to embarking on the Angola journey with our 8 amazing clients who will be joining me next week, where the essence of Angola's culture and landscapes will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on our souls. Angola is a country where cultural richness and natural beauty intertwine, offering travelers an unparalleled experience. The cities resonate with a blend of African and Portuguese influences, a legacy of colonial history that began in the sixteenth century. This captivating culture is evident in the local music and dance, where rhythms echo the spirit of the land. Even the Portuguese language is infused with African nuances, creating a unique linguistic landscape that reflects the country’s diverse heritage.

Beyond the urban allure, Angola boasts remarkable geological formations that speak to the earth’s raw power. The Pedras Negras, or "Black Rocks," form a striking plateau, their massive presence captivating travelers from afar. This natural wonder is a testament to the geological artistry of the region, inviting exploration and contemplation.

Our expedition will also lead us to the Namib Desert, home to some of the oldest sand dunes on earth. The surreal beauty of these pink and orange waves of sand creates an almost otherworldly landscape. As we traverse this vast expanse, we will appreciate nature's artistry, finding serenity and inspiration in its sheer magnificence. While some nights will be spent in rustic camping accommodations, this experience is paramount to unveiling the hidden magic of Angola. Immersing ourselves in this environment allows us to connect more deeply with the last remaining traditional tribal cultures, transforming us from mere observers into active participants in their extraordinary way of life.

Join us for an enriching exploration of West Africa as we journey through Ghana, Togo, and Benin (Jan 08 - Jan 22, 2025). Led by the knowledgeable Mohamed Halouani, this tour promises to immerse you in the diverse cultures and traditions of these vibrant countries, each with its own unique wildlife and historical narratives. Our adventure begins in Togo, the bustling city of Lomé awaits. Explore the Akodessewa Fetish Market, a significant part of Togo's cultural heritage. This market is a vivid testament to the practices and beliefs that shape local communities. In Ouidah, Benin, partake in the lively Fête du Vodoun (Voodoo Festival), experiencing the vibrant colors and rhythms that characterize this important cultural celebration. The energy of the traditional dances will leave a lasting impression.  Afterward, visit Ganvie, often referred to as the "Venice of West Africa," where you will explore this picturesque community built on stilts over Lake Nokoué. Crossing into Ghana, we will witness the stunning Wli Waterfalls, the highest in West Africa, nestled in a lush, semi-deciduous forest. Engage with the local community at Tafi Atome, which is dedicated to the conservation of endangered mona monkeys. Our journey culminates in Kumasi, an excellent base to delve deeper into local culture and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This vibrant city is rich in history, offering numerous opportunities to engage with its diverse heritage.

Embark on this unforgettable journey just after the dawn of the new year and create memories that will last a lifetime in the heart of West Africa. Who can say NO to escape the bitter winters of North America and bask in the warmth of Africa?

Another multiple country tour the esteemed Mohamed Halouani, is leading is our North Africa tour, stopping in Mauritania, Tunisia, and Algeria. Mauritania, once the seat of the Almoravid movement that spread Islam throughout North Africa, boasts many natural wonders and ancient cities. Highlights include bustling markets, fascinating "ksours" (fortified villages), isolated nomadic camps, medieval Berber trading centers, the mystical Guelb Errichat (Africa's "Eye"), beautiful green oases, and impressive Neolithic rock cave paintings. Few countries on earth match Tunisia's historical, cultural, and natural splendor. Begin in the capital city of Tunis with its excellent museums, wondrous medina (ancient city), and fascinating souqs (markets). Explore ancient Carthage, one of the most important cities in the ancient Roman Empire, and Dougga, Tunisia's most well-preserved archaeological site. Algeria is a vast country of breathtaking scenery, well-preserved Roman ruins, pre-historic cave paintings, impressive museums, and a strong Berber culture. This journey segment will take you from the sweeping shores of the Mediterranean to the majestic green mountains, through the vast Sahara Desert, and into the palm-fringed oases. Explore the Roman ruins of Timgad, the former Roman port of Caesarea, the oasis town of Bou Saada, the Kasbah of Algiers, and the unique fortified city of Ghardaia and its Mozabite villages. No tour of Algeria would be complete without a visit to the dramatic city of Constantine, the "city of gorges and bridges." This tour will take place from April 04 - May 01, 2025.

We are excited to offer once again our unique program to the Spanish Enclaves, led by historian and tour lecturer Mohamed Halouani,. This insightful journey will take place from Feb 23 - Mar 05, 2025, exploring the intriguing history and complexities of Ceuta and Melilla.

Ceuta and Melilla are two small enclaves situated on the northern coast of Morocco. Though they are geographically part of Morocco, these territories are legally recognized as part of Spain. This status has made them focal points in the longstanding diplomatic tensions between Spain and Morocco. Madrid maintains that both enclaves are integral to the Spanish state, similar in status to the semi-autonomous regions located on the mainland.

As you delve into the rich past of these cities, you will discover that their origins trace back to the Phoenicians, the ancient sailors and merchants of the Mediterranean. Over centuries, they have witnessed a succession of control shifts, with the Spanish seizing power in 1580, excluding a brief period from 1694 to 1720 when the Moors reestablished dominance. Today, Ceuta and Melilla's heavily fortified borders face increasing pressures from African migrants seeking a pathway to a better life in Europe, adding a contemporary layer to the historical narrative. Join us in this enriching program, where you will not only engage with the history of these unique regions but also reflect on the significant geopolitical issues that continue to shape their future.

This tour can be seamlessly paired with a pre-tour to the Southern Morocco and Western Sahara scheduled from Feb 09 - Feb 23, 2025, which is guided by Mohamed Halouani, as well. By combining these two adventures, travelers will have the opportunity to experience the unique landscapes and rich cultures of both regions. The Southern Morocco and Western Sahara tour offers a deep dive into the arid beauty of the Sahara Desert, exploring its vast dunes, ancient trade routes, and traditional Berber villages. You will discover vibrant markets, breathtaking sunsets, and the warm hospitality of the local people.
