September already, can you believe it? Soon that cold, wild, wind will come. But before we get ready to stack the firewood, order the oil delivery, and all the myriad other chores we are used to here in New England, there’s a few more weeks to sit outside and catch up on your reading.
I personally couldn’t be more excited to see the launch of Daniel Mason’s epic North Woods which will hit shelves in mid-September. North Woods is a New England tale spanning generations, cultures, and the mortal plane itself. I cannot recommend this book enough, and several other booksellers have added it to their best-of lists as well. Between you and me, a little birdie also told me to watch our event calendar, as there may be a chance to meet the author here in Manchester in October!
In my world of used and collectible books here at Northshire, we have made several moves recently that I hope will excite our customers, new and old. Since taking over the used collection in early 2020, I’ve worked endlessly to modernize, organize, streamline, and highlight our collection of previously-loved titles in our Manchester store. We’ve launched Northshire Rare; our extensive collection of signed first editions, curated our most-loved sections, and bumped up our in-store stock of books on Vermont, many of which are out of print. We have also just launched an eBay store for our premium collectible titles, which you can find at ebay.com/usr/northshirebookstore.
