to Say Goodbye to a Legend!

Don Voss’ Celebration of Life, Chambers Bay Golf Course, Friday 9/29/2023 around 3:30 p.m.

Babies and older teens ok, but keep in mind the environment may not be kid appropriate. Please get the word out. There will be an open mic. Many family, friends and roofer folk have many funny, crazy, endearing tales to tell so start working on it. May go past 7 p.m.! If you can't be there in-person but want to write something, I can have people read to the crowd on your behalf. This will be a gathering where we can all remember this good man and say our goodbyes.

Artificial intelligence is all the rage. Watch the news, skim your social media sites, and that may be all you see. AI — and specifically ChatGPT — can create marketing plans, write our kids’ college essays and even compose music. But how well it performs can vary wildly and is very much up for debate. Recently, a lawyer learned that relying on ChatGPT could have disastrous results. Read more.

New IBA Comments on WSR 23-13-069

WSR 23-13-069 proposing wildfire smoke regulation will cost construction contractors, plumbers, electricians, landscapers, painting contractors, etc. big and small, and their customers, an estimated $2.7 billion or more per year and impose more regulatory inflation on small businesses and violates RCW 19.85 and cannot be adopted as proposed because it violates RCW 19.85. Doing Good in our Neighborhood

From its very conception, Tacoma Habitat has been rooted in partnership. As a volunteer-centered organization, we are grateful for the generosity of those who give their time to build with us. We also celebrate industry partners who come along side, with donated labor and/or materials. Once such relationship is GAF’s Community Contractor program, where factory-certified roof installers donate their labor and GAF donates the product to install roofs on Habitat homes nationwide. Tacoma Rainiers Night Recap

RCAW's roofers' night out at the ballpark was a great success. We filled the 1882 Club with our members and their families to watch the Tacoma Rainiers take on the Texas Round Rock Express. The summer evening weather was perfect to enjoy delicious food, ice cold drinks and mingle with new and familiar faces.
