Organic farmer Davis Mas Masumoto will discuss his new memoir, Secret Harvests, which follows a journey of discovering a lost aunt who was separated from the family due to her disabilities amid their forced removal during WWII.

Highlights include the grand opening of the all-new exhibit Arte Activista: Día de los Muertos 2023, a performance and ceremonial blessing by Maquilli Tonatiuh Aztec Dancers, live music, food & beverages for purchase by Mayahuel, sugar skull workshops, costume contest and much more.


Advance tickets on sale through Thurs., Oct. 12 or until sold out.

I Love Sugar Skull Workshops

Sunday, Oct. 29

12:30 - 1:30 pm & 2:00 - 3:00 pm


Learn how to design and decorate “calaveras de azúcar” (sugar skulls) for Día de los Muertos in one of two workshops led by Rob-O of I Love Sugar Skulls.


$15 per participant. Includes materials fee for pre-made sugar skull & royal icing, plus admission to all current exhibits. Advance registration by 5:00 p.m. on Fri., Oct. 27 is strongly recommended.

Film Screening: "The Great American Lowrider Tradition"

The Museum will host the first Northern California screening of the award-winning documentary “The Great Lowrider Tradition," exploring how this expression of Mexican American cultural pride became a worldwide phenomenon.



Limited seating, advance tickets required. Tickets go on sale next Friday, Sept. 8!
