Governing Board Meetings

Review the minutes and materials from the July Governing Board meeting to ensure you are up-to-date on discussions and activities pertaining to the Partnership. The next WSUP Governing Board meeting will be held on Friday October 11, 2024 - University of Wyoming from 2:00 - 4:00 pm.

District Residency Connections Fair 2024 - Final Reminder


The District Residency Connections Fair (DRCF) will host its third annual event on Thursday and Friday October 10-11 at the University of Wyoming Union. This year sees an expansion with two days worth of programming and two fair sessions for districts and education organizations to connect with University of Wyoming College of Education students. This event is sponsored by the Wyoming School-University Partnership, the College of Education School of Teacher Education, the College of Education Dean's Office, and the College of Education Student Success Center. Email Elizabeth McMahan with questions or for more information.

Free CTE Course for Wyoming High School Students


The University of Wyoming College of Education will be providing a free opportunity for Wyoming high school students to earn three college credits in the Spring 2025 semester through their Career and Technical Education Course.

High Altitude Pathways Fall Retreat 2024


The High Altitude Pathways program held their fall retreat this past week at UW Casper. During the retreat career counselors, principals, educators, and more, collaboratively planned upcoming college and career pathways events for the fall and spring semesters. The schools, community colleges, and organizations part of this fall brainstorm included: Albany #1, Big Horn #1, Cathedral Home for Children, Goshen #1, Washakie #2, Eastern Wyoming College, Northwest College, College for Every Student Brilliant Pathways, and the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

Dunham Family Fellows Brunch


The College of Education proudly celebrated the 2024 cohort of Dunham Family Fellows recently with a special brunch, meet-and-greet, and recognition ceremony. President Seidel and Provost Carman also attended this important occasion. Thanks to the continued generosity of Dave and Kelly Dunham, this award—established in 2022—provides critical financial support to student teachers, helping to alleviate the significant financial challenges that often come with securing housing and managing finances during their teaching residency.

Registration is now open for the 2024 Wyoming Early Childhood Collaborative Conference happening on October 11-12 at Central Wyoming College in Riverton, WY. The cost for the conference ranges from $50-$75.

Leading the Transition to Personalized, Competency-Based Education


Don't miss these October sessions from the Wyoming Department of Education, both on-site or virtual. The sessions are designed to help principals, assistant principals, and district-level admin learn the role of a change leader, recognize the need for different structures, identify the reasons people resist change, and develop action plans for moving work forward.

Wyoming PLC State Series on Common Formative Assessment


This series hosted by Wyoming Department of Education delves deep into the PLC process and monitoring a guaranteed and viable curriculum. Participants will connect with research that supports the need for schools and teams to create aligned common formative assessments. In addition, participants will explore how to deconstruct essential standards into specific learning targets and determine corresponding proficiency levels.

WyHealth Train Grant Program


The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has a grant program for newly enrolled students in a healthcare career pathway. These students may be eligible for up to $10,000 toward the cost of completing a qualified healthcare program within a 2-year timeframe. Preference will be given to those enrolled in a Nursing Pathway or Behavioral Health Pathway, however, other healthcare career pathways are also eligible.
