Lake County 4-H - September 2024 Newsletter

September Chapter 9 of 12 in 2024

Congratulations to all 4-H fair exhibitors! Your project is complete, and you did your best. I have seen innovative, creative and outright impressive projects. I think of how much more these 4-H projects actually mean and the path you have traveled to get the project finished. You each seek your spark then invest time in you, which is the best investment of all. I will see you during the year and at our 2025 fair.

When you raise animals, you learn self-discipline and responsibility while taking care of a living creature that depends on you every day for their welfare. During the judging process, you may have to explain your project to a judge, which helps to develop your social and interview skills. During times of disappointment or excitement, you will learn things such as good sportsmanship, managing feelings, and developing empathy for others. You may not even realize all the great things you have learned until you reflect back on your experience in 4-H when you are older. As I reflect, you are all discovering yourself in 4-H and I am thankful to be a small part within your journey.

My gratitude to all the adults cultivating the lives of our youth.

Together Everyone Achieves More ~Jean

Believe in yourself and you will be unstoppable!
