Hispanic Heritage Month

CancerCare celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, held between September 15 and October 15, by honoring our commitment to addressing the barriers to care for Hispanic populations. As part of our outreach, we are starting La Hora Del Café, a series of meet-and-greets in our Paramus, NJ, offices at select times throughout the year.

In addition, we published three new Spanish-language fact sheets designed to help patients talk with their doctors and deal with a cancer diagnosis.

Consejería para Lidiar Mejor con un diagnóstico de cáncer (Counseling to Better Cope With a Cancer Diagnosis)

El Valor de Asertividad al hablar con su Doctor (The Value of Assertiveness When Talking to Your Doctor)

Su Equipo de Atención Medica: Entendiendo su Función (Your Health Care Team: Understanding Their Roles)

CancerCare's Clinical Trials Videos

Clinical trials are a vital part of the treatment of cancer, leading to potential advancements and help for those who join them.

Recently, CancerCare created short, easy-to-understand videos on the benefits and how they work, both in English and in Spanish.

CancerCare's www.myTRIAList.org helps patients learn about clinical trials, find them by location and other criteria, and provides interviews, tutorials and more to explain how valuable they can be.
