We are sorrowful to announce the temporary suspension of our Personal Assistive Device (P.A.D) Program, effective September 11, 2024. This decision was not made lightly, as this program has been our first and most cherished initiative. Due to a critical shortage of volunteers and delivery equipment, we are unable to process these requests or accept new donations currently.
Our P.A.D Program is vital in supporting individuals with disabilities, offering them the independence and freedom they deserve. The need for volunteers is urgent, and our community's reliance on this program underscores its importance. We are urgently calling on our community to step forward and volunteer during this critical time.
Are you or someone you know interested in making a real difference?
We are urgently seeking dedicated volunteers who can:
- Pick up and drop off used mobility aids (wheelchairs, scooters, bathroom devices, etc.) to community members.
- Have a valid driver’s license and access to a truck (mileage will be reimbursed).
- Possess excellent communication skills, technological proficiency, and a strong work ethic.
- Commit approximately 10 hours per week, with flexible hours available on weekdays or weekends.
- Undergo a criminal record check (free through Langley Pos-Abilities).
This role is not just a job—it’s an opportunity to profoundly impact the lives of those in need. By supporting our P.A.D Program, you will help provide independence and freedom to community members who rely on this essential service.
If you are ready to make a difference, please fill out our Volunteer Application Form. If you know someone who would be perfect for this role, please share this news with them. Your community needs you now more than ever!
