Retiree Open Enrollment takes place from October 1 - October 31. All change forms must be received by SBCERS by Friday, November 1. Forms and Open Enrollment books will be available to view online on September 30 at www.sbcers.org/openenrollment.

APPLY TO BE A POLL WORKER |
The County of Santa Barbara Elections Division invites retired employees of Santa Barbara County who wish to serve in the November 5th Presidential General Election to apply to be an Election Officer or Poll Worker. Currently, there are openings countywide with the greatest need in the Santa Barbara, Goleta, Lompoc, and Santa Maria areas. Election officers and poll workers attend trainings before Election day and assist in a variety of roles including:
- Setting up and closing a polling place,
- Helping voters understand their rights, and
- Protecting ballots and voting equipment.
To serve as a poll worker, you must be one of the following:
- A registered California voter,
- A legal resident of the United States who would be eligible to vote except for their citizenship status, or
- An eligible high school student
Being a poll worker is a great way to earn extra money, get involved, and support your community and the democratic process. To sign up, please submit a California Poll Worker Application today!

August 2024 Investment Results
For the month of August 2024, the Total Fund returned 1.67%. Since the beginning of the fiscal year on July 1, 2024, the Fund has returned 3.03% generating over $132 million for SBCERS retirees and beneficiaries.

RETIRED EMPLOYEES OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY (RESBC) | |
RESBC is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of county retirees by providing information on critical retirement issues and offering educational/cultural social opportunities. Membership in RESBC is $2.50 monthly. Dues are deducted from the member’s Santa Barbara County pension payment. County employees may join RESBC by completing the RESBC Membership Deduction Authorization form at the time of their retirement exit conference.
Retirees may join at any time by requesting a membership form from SBCERS, 130 Robin Hill Road, Suite 100, Goleta, CA 93117, 1-877-568-2940 or, by clicking HERE and sending the completed form to benefits@sbcers.org.
RESBC Membership benefits include:
- 4 issues of the RESBC newsletter per year.
- 4 subsidized luncheon meetings per year held at various county locations.
- Opportunities to participate in subsidized day trips and special events.
- Attendance at special presentations on critical issues such as health insurance, pension litigation, pension-related court decisions, etc.
