The Township′s 2024 paving program is complete. In brief, the Township resurfaced 3.98 miles of roadway at a cost of about $856k. In addition, the Ottawa County Road Commission resurfaced an additional 0.8 miles of roadway within the Township.

It is also noted that the DDA′s watermain project at the US-31 and Buchanan Street intersection will paving 0.3 miles of Buchanan Street east of US-31 when completed.

MDOT will be closing median access at Winans Street and Pierce Street and replacing these crossing with an in-direct left turn – located north of Winans for the southbound turn and south of Pierce for the northbound turn. (See diagram below.)

This decision was made by MDOT due to increased traffic counts on US-31. The work is expected to be completed by early November.

The dates for the 2024 Fall leaf drop-off will be Monday, October 11th through Sunday, November 17th. The operating hours are:

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Sunday: Noon – 6:00 p.m.

The drop-off location for leaves is 13300 168th Avenue – behind the Township Public Services Building. The site only accepts leaves and grass clippings. No wood, tree limbs or brush will be accepted.
