Greetings Parents and Families of Steubenville High School!
I want to remind everyone of the following:
I am so proud of our students and staff for the amazing start to the 2025-26 school year. I am grateful for everyone's contributions to this effort. Our staff worked hard to prepare for the start of the school year. SHS staff deserves credit for a job well done. Along the same lines, our students have done an outstanding job of adjusting to new norms, meeting high expectations, and contributing to our defining attribute as a building - the unique culture of Steubenville Big Red. We are very excited about the possibilities this year holds.
New Electronic Device Policy
My heart is filled with gratitude as I reflect on the approach of our students to our new rules and regulations related to electronic devices. I think we all agree the cell phones and related electronic accessories get in the way of learning, socializing and growing together in a high school setting. In candid moments, most students acknowledge that fact. Walking through the hallways during class changes, it's rare to see any electronic devices. The lunchroom and hallways have gotten a bit louder but are filled with positive energy as our students interact with each other, expand social circles and appreciate the value of being present in this moment.
Metal Detectors
Ms. Agresta, Ms. Beall and I are proud of the adaptability and patience shown by our students as they've navigated the detector line in the morning. This cutting-edge technology provides another layer in our approach to ensure student safety, security and wellness in maintained. The lines are moving faster and more efficiently each day. I also want to express our deep appreciation for the amazing staff members helping us each morning. They've done a fantastic job-developing routines and strategies that have expedited the process.
I will continue to send out reminders in the monthly school newsletter throughout the year. Please remember that my staff and I are here to serve our families and students. I am always available and look forward to building a meaningful relationship with you and your child. Please know that the faculty and staff at Steubenville High School are driven by a commitment to provide your child(ren) with the best possible experience.
