CYF wrapped up summer in fun fashion!

VBS for our youngest ones was a blast! We explored science and miracles at God's Wonder Lab through song, prayer, games, crafts, stories and science experiments.

Our youth wrapped up the summer with a lockin. They played a lot of games, explored some new treats and escaped the Escape Room with the enchanted avocado!

Kick Off Sunday - Coming Soon!

Plan to be at Our Saviour’s September 7 for Kick Off Sunday, 2025!

During worship at 8:30 & 10:15, there will be a “Back to School Blessing” for students. At 10:15, kids will go on a tour of the OSLC Kid’s Ministry Rooms and do their own service project. After worship, you are invited to STAY, SERVE, and EAT lunch! Service projects will be set-up to do right at church!



SUPPORT Guatemala Team Fundraiser Pig Roast for lunch! Serving starts at 11am. Suggested donation of $10. (Meals available to go as needed.) 

"Making Room"

Our congregation has voted to move forward with our building renovation!

We are excited about how this will positively impact our youth and families! This will include a new kitchen to help with youth fundraising and activities. It will also include more restrooms for our children’s area along with great classroom sizes for our CYF programming! We appreciate all the volunteers and leaders that helping make this reality! September CYF Event: Fall Fun at Eveland Family Farm!

Join us at Eveland Family Farm in Andover for a scavenger hunt challenge, cute resident animals (including llamas, alpacas, goats, and pot-bellied pigs), a hayride, and more!

When: Sunday, September 28th, 1pm-6pm

Where: Eveland Farms, 2575 Andover Blvd NW, Andover, MN 55304

Who: All ages!

Cost: $10/person for admission & hayride

Trunk or Treat!



Sunday, October 26

Event: 3:30-5pm

Volunteers: Arrive 2:30pm

Trunks: Arrive 3:00pm

All children and youth are invited to participate. Come and visit the trunks for treats, walk the book walk, play games and more!

Bring:

• Nonperishable food item(s) for the NACE Food shelf
• Extra money for concessions, if you’d like
• Yourself, friends and family in your favorite family-friendly costume

Bible Presentation for Preschool and 2nd Graders

For children in Preschool who have not yet received the “Beginners Bible” and those in 2^nd grade who have not yet received the “Hands On Bible," you are invited to come and receive a Bible from the CYF Ministries at Our Saviour’s.

Do you have a child in Kindergarten-1^st or 3^rd-5^th and you didn’t receive one of these Bibles in PreK or 2^nd grade? Please sign up and attend!

First Communion Class and Worship

All ages welcome - Instruction is aimed at 2nd-5th grade but will be adapted for all the ages that are registered.

We practice open communion here at Our Saviour’s. If you feel your child is ready, please sign up regardless of age.

Mark Your Calendars for Serving Dinner!

As a reminder, each week a Confirmation Family is scheduled to help with meal service. A reminder email will be sent on Tuesdays to the families who are scheduled to help the following Wednesday. If you are unable to attend your scheduled evening, please find another family to switch with. In the event that you are unable to switch with another family, please contact Leisha Tays, Director of CYF Ministries, ltays@oursaviourslc.org.

Any adult (18+) family member of students is welcome to fulfill this role! Please plan to be at OSLC by 5pm to serve from 5-5:50pm. Then from 5:50-6pm to sell any potential leftovers.

Meals will be offered from 5 pm - 6pm for $5 per person

Who: Confirmation students who finished their final year of confirmation in 2024-25

What: Retreat to prepare for the Confirmation service and more

Where: Camp Ihduhapi, Loretto, MN

When: Friday, September 19 - Saturday, September 20

Bring: Bedding for bunk beds, hygiene items/towel (there are private showers on site), pajamas, clothing appropriate for indoor and outdoor, tennis shoes and long pants (required for ropes course)

Keep your eye on your emails for a retreat-specific email with more details!

No need to sign up, just show up! Friends are more than welcome!

Lighthouse Ministries Youth Group

All those who are currently in grades 9 and up for are encouraged to come for this weekly opportunity. Come when you can!

Who: Current 9th-12th Graders

What: Weekly gathering for fellowship, Bible study and worship

Where: OSLC Youth Room

When: Sundays, 9am-11:15am

Why: To grow in our faith, relationships with one another and continue down our journey together

Current Bible Study: "Confident Christian" where we'll explore different world religions and religious groups and view them side by side with our own ELCA beliefs. Learning and exploring why we believe what we do.

Bring: Bible

Provided: Breakfast treat (donuts, muffins, juice, etc)
