Building Club

Tallest Tower Challenge


Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 4 p.m.


Build, construct, create and have fun with lots of different building materials. Open to all ages.

Story Time


Thursdays at 10 a.m.


Beginning September 11, young friends and their caregivers are welcome to join us for stories, songs, games, and more. Contact the library with any questions.

Art Journaling for Teens & Adults


We meet on the 1st Friday AND the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 5-7 p.m. to add a new creative page to our journals. You will receive a journal on your first visit. Supplies and a topic will be provided. This month we meet on Friday, September 5 and Wednesday, September 17 from 5-7 p.m.

Beginner Ukulele Lesson


Saturday, September 20th

10-noon


Join us as musician, Gina Turcketta, provides an Intro to Ukulele class for ages 18 and up. You may bring your own ukulele or let us know and we can provide one for the event. Signups are required for this program. Please let us know if you'll be joining in on the fun and will need an instrument.

Craft Club

Fairy Houses


Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.



We'll provide various supplies and ideas to make and decorate a Fairy House. Open to all ages.



Zine Making for Teens


Friday, September 26th

5-7 p.m.


ZINE: A DIY magazine created with your artwork and ideas.



Supplies will be provided, but feel free to bring in your own pictures, too.

Gently Used Donations for Fall Book Sale


The library is in need of clean, gently used books for our upcoming Book & Bake Sale on November 22. Please bring in your donations (no more than 2 boxes) during regular business hours.

DO NOT leave books outside the library or in the book drop.

Blood Pressure Monitor


The library has a Blood Pressure Monitor kit available for a 3 week loan. The kit is courtesy of the Eastern Highlands Health District. Do you know your numbers? Check out the kit and find out.

Electric Vehicle Charging Station


There is a charging station in the library parking lot for your electric vehicles. What you should know if you plan to use it:

  • Download the mobile app from the Android or Apple store at https://onelink.to/5kcvhw
  • First time users will select Charge as a Guest and will need to enter credit/debit card information before proceeding.
  • If you are a member you will need to select Account, Create Blink Code, and then enter the Blink Code when prompted.

Free E-Reader App

 Enjoy thousands of free eBooks, audiobooks, and more from your local library.

The Palace app offers you all the eBooks at the library in one easy-to-use app, so you can search once, find your title, and start reading in just a few taps. 


To get started, download the Palace Project app on your device, select the Scotland Public Library, and enter your 13 digit library barcode from your library card and PIN from your Verso library account. Contact the library with any questions.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten


Help your child prepare for school by reading to them everyday. Join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the library.

It's easy:

  • stop by the library to pick up your packet.
  • keep a journal of all the books you share with your child
  • bring in your reading log for a prize to mark each milestone.
