Greetings, Fellow Villagers!
Enjoying these cooler days? Just so you know, Yankees call these 85+ degree days summer heat! Regardless, your Village Employees Benefit Fund Board of Directors is hard at work. While the 3rd Quarter is a bit quieter, there is still much to do.
Our primary focus has (and continues to be) spreading the word about our Appreciation Fund. We want every household to know and understand the VEBF Appreciation Fund. And some still do not. You can help us with this mission…. There are people you know in your neighborhood, or at church, on the golf course, in other Village organizations, who have not participated with us or do not know who we are or what we do. Can you share our mission of appreciating our hourly employees with them? The annual donation letter will be reaching everyone soon, so your words of encouragement will certainly touch someone!
You may already be aware that we are hosting a lovely evening of dinner and entertainment on Thursday, October 16, at 5:00 pm at the Coronado Center. This is a “friend raising” event and promises to be good fun and entertainment with Ken Goodman. It is our official launch of our 2025 campaign, and the dinner tickets are $35.00. Tickets are available by calling either Sue Luerssen (501-209-9299) or Jim Patton (708-728-5172).
We are still selecting area businesses and companies to participate in this fund as Sponsors. If you have a company that you do business with and that would like to be able to promote itself to others in the Village (as well as being a contributor to the Appreciation Fund), please let us know. You can call me at (214-763-4602) with the name and contact person, and I will reach out to them.
I’m sure you’ve seen our wonderful, hourly employees out working, even in the 90+ degree weather, cleaning up areas, fixing streets, maintaining the golf courses, putting out fires, and answering emergency calls … and the list goes on. This effort keeps our Village safe, lovely, and a secure place to call home.
So ends the 3rd quarter and our report to you. By the way, encourage those who don’t know us to look at our website, www.vebf.org.
We hope to see you at our fun evening in October. Always interested in your ideas and information. Thank you for your helpfulness and continued support.
Carol Freeland, VEBF Board President
I am writing to you on behalf of your Board: Lloyd Sherman, Ricky Middleton, Sue Luerssen, John Pritchard, James Patton, Bill Luerssen, Donna Jared, Jeff Lloyd, Bill Butterworth, and Robert Zellner.
