AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Ara Ortega
DPG Real Estate Agency
Ara Ortega of DPG Real Estate Agency is this month’s featured Ambassador. She has recently joined the Chamber and immediately joined the Ambassador Committee. As a newer member, she hasn’t officially joined any other committees but she is excited to get more involved as the opportunities come up. She enjoys being an Ambassador because she loves meeting new people, learning about their businesses, and staying connected to the Community. It has helped her build relationships and gain exposure, which has been a great support for her real estate business.
As a Realtor with DPG Real Estate Agency, Ara helps individuals and families find their dream homes by guiding and supporting them throughout the buying and selling process. She is just getting started in real estate. While it’s been a slow start, she brings strong work ethic, drive, and heart to everything she does. Ara can’t wait to grow in this career and help more people along the way.
Ara lives in Naperville with her husband, their two kids, and their white German Shepherd. They love traveling, especially to Disney and anywhere tropical! She is also a big foodie and is always on the lookout for new spots or hidden gems to try. One of Ara’s favorite quotes is from Kobe Bryant: “Great things come from hard work and perseverance. No excuses.” She believes success comes from showing up every day, putting in the effort, and staying consistent event when it’s hard. Ara also lives by the ideas of always staying humble, treating people with kindness, and never forgetting where you come from, no matter how far you go.

Back to School, Back to Business: Parents Shift Gears for Fall
As summer winds down, families are trading beach towels for backpacks, and the energy in the community shifts. The start of a new school year brings excitement for children, but it also signals a return to a different kind of routine for parents especially those running or working in local businesses.
For working parents, the back-to-school season often means a sharper daily schedule, earlier mornings, and a renewed focus on productivity. With kids back in classrooms, many business owners and professionals find they can dedicate more consistent hours to projects, planning, and growth. The quiet after the morning school drop-off becomes a valuable window for strategic thinking, client meetings, and tackling the to-do list without interruption.
This seasonal shift can also spark fresh opportunities. Parents may be more engaged with community events, networking, and local shopping now that their schedules stabilize. Businesses can take advantage of this momentum by offering special promotions, lunchtime meetups, or back-to-business events designed to reconnect with customers and colleagues.
In many ways, September feels like a “second New Year” a chance to reset, refocus, and aim for strong results in the final months of the year. Just as children head into the classroom ready to learn, parents head into the office, shop, or studio ready to achieve. And with the structure of the school year in place, the balance between work and family can find its rhythm.
The Lisle Bottles Barrels & Brews was held at the Museum's at Lisle Station Park on August 16, 2025. The selection of beer, wine, & spirits was a big hit with the yard game area, (who can resist Giant Jenga?) music and food vendors. It was a sunny day until the torrential rains, hail, thunder and lightning came. We thank our Sponsors, volunteers, Lisle Woman's Club, vendors and the Bottles Barrels & Brew Committee.
Thank you to Lisle Area Chamber member Congressman Bill Foster for visiting Downtown Lisle and some of our Chamber member businesses. One of the many opportunities your Chamber membership provides you, is the opportunities to meet with local, state and federal government officials. The Chamber can make connections that might not otherwise be feasible.
