Annual Mini-Golf Tournament
Set for September 17th
Get ready to putt for a purpose!
Our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Ocean Shores Food Bank Mini-Golf Tournament, will take place on Wednesday, September 17th, at Pacific Paradise here in Ocean Shores. Tickets are available at Ocean Sunset Drug (121 E Chance a La Mer NE in Ocean Shores). Doors open at 3:00 p.m. with a shotgun tee-off at 4:00 p.m.
Feeling lucky? The event will include a 50/50 raffle. The more tickets we sell, the bigger the cash price, and one lucky winner will take home half the pot.
Ready to putt in style? Come in costume and compete for the title of “Best Dressed Golfer.”
Always a hugely fun event, the annual mini-golf tournament is not only a wonderful time but a great way to help ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.

Corgi Beach Party a Big Success!
On Saturday, August 23rd, Ocean Shores hosted the first annual Corgi Beach Party to support the Ocean Shores Food Bank. As this was the inaugural event, expectations were kept low. The hope was that 50 corgis would make their appearance. But the corgis (and their owners) blew away expectations when 111 corgis from across the Pacific Northwest converged on our beach. There were corgis from as far away as Texas and Florida, showing that this has the potential to become a signature summer event in Ocean Shores.
The weather was beautiful, which made for a great day of corgi fun with their big personalities, stubby legs, smiling faces, and wriggling butts and tails. Corgis participated in costume contests, fluffy butts, and of course, the always hilarious corgi races.
Pet food donations for the Ocean Shores Food Bank totaled nearly 450 pounds of food in addition to monetary contributions, ensuring that the food bank will continue to provide nutrition not just for its human guests, but its furry ones as well.
Event organizer Bruce Rittenhouse sent a special thank you to all the sponsors and volunteers who made the event possible. He is already planning the next Corgi Beach Party, which is scheduled for August 26, 2026. He promises that “it will be bigger and better, and I fully expect the growth of this event to increase in the coming years.”

One of our guests recently shared that coming to the food bank was more than just an opportunity to obtain supplemental groceries. It is also an opportunity to catch up with friends, share news, and share smiles. “I have two things to look forward to each week,” she told us. “Church on Sunday and the food bank on Thursday.”

Volunteer Appreciation Picnic
On August 16, the food bank held its annual volunteer picnic in the pavilion at Galilean Lutheran Church. Lovely weather, great food, and warm companionship were the order of the day. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible, and especially to Jack for doing all the grilling.

A Community of Caring
At the Ocean Shores Food Bank, our mission is simple yet vital: so no one in our community goes hungry. That is why your help is needed.
Each week, between 225 and 250 households rely on us for nutritious food. As food assistance programs continue to be eliminated, we know that even more families will need our help. But together, we can meet this challenge. With the support of caring friends like you, we can ensure that no one in Ocean Shores is left behind.
There are so many ways to help. Consider joining our volunteer team. (You’ll find more information at https://www.oceanshoresfoodbank.org/volunteer.) Put together a foursome and come to our annual mini-golf tournament on September 17th. Dance the day away at Rock the Shores on September 10th. Or make a gift online or by mailing a check to:
